Seeding doesn't mean much as Wahlert was a seven seed last year and won it all. 5th seed this year, and they've played arguably the toughest schedule in all of Iowa over the last two seasons. Hopefully the championship is Wahlert vs. Spirit Lake as I'm sure we would all like to see Pemsl vs. Kreiner. My prediction is that Wahlert wins the 3A state championship. I don't follow 2A and 1A so am not sure what might happen there.

4A substate championships finish tonight, I believe, Two of the games include Iowa City West vs. Iowa City High and Senior vs. Hempstead for trips to state.

I got my tix to the 3 and 4a championships for my works suite. Need to have Wahlert and West make it to the finals.

My kids go to D-NH (2A). Pretty amazing they have gone undefeated so far.

Should be a fun tournament. Looking forward to seeing Kriener (or is it Kreiner?) in action.

Happens a lot. In my experience, teams that have records like that are usually in conferences jacked full of bigger schools that hurts the team's record, but gets them ready for postseason. I remember when my team went to state, the 8 seed was 13-11 boyden-hull (who has to deal with all the really good NW Iowa schools) and they got all the way to the championship that year.

Yeah, or some schools that have subpar records play in conferences where most of the teams are actually in a bigger class then they are. That happens quite a bit too I know.
