Would people have an issue if Reese just kept it at the shit talk at the foul line? I personally don’t think it would be, and the main focus would be how big of a joke the refs were. The weird part is her following Caitlin around for the last ~15 seconds when she’s about to win the biggest game of her life. Hard to convince me Caitlin wouldn’t be getting killed for that in the media as well. Seems like people are just using the 2 second clip for this argument instead of what actually happened

I would have given zero ****s. Following a player after the game is all but over calling her a hoe and taunting her and then not getting in the hand shake line is garbage behavior.
I actually like Steven A., but if he knew anything about Caitlin, he'd know better. She may talk some smack during the game to get an edge, but as soon as the game is over, she goes through the handshake line with respect for her opponent and then celebrates with her team. Nothing more. There's absolutely zero basis to assume she'd follow anyone around taunting them after a game.
I also disagree with Stephen A. I do not think Caitlin would have followed an opponent around the court like Reese did. Has nothing to do with Caitlin or Angel's skin color. I know some white people who are assholes and some who are fine people. And I know plenty of black and brown people - some assholes and some fine people. But try not to bring race into it. Try to discuss specifics.

Clark wouldn't have. Not debatable. What's ironic about this whole thing is that Reese accomplished the exact opposite of what she said she was doing. She said she wanted to be an example to girls who looked like her and yet all she did was reinforce all of those negative stereotypes of girls who look like her. Instead of rising to the moment and being exactly that, she decides to make an ass of herself on the biggest and brightest of stages. I wonder when/if she realizes how she squandered maybe the greatest opportunity to shine and promote herself and the game that she'll ever have in life. She didn't hurt Caitlin. She hurt herself and everyone who looks like her.

I’m honestly surprised there wasn’t a fight after the game. If that would have happened to a lot of other teams, men or women, with that disrespect, things could have played out very differently.
That is the difference you see when expectations of behavior are expected and not enabled.
That would have been an extremely ugly look. I agree -- considering how awful Reese acted, it would have been easy for Caitlin to turn around and smack her. Very glad the Hawks took the high road, from Coach Bluder on down, from the court to the press conference. Nobody took the bait from Reese or any reporters. It could have been a horrible look if they had -- but that also would have been completely uncharacteristic of this staff and this team.
