Steve Mocco

he was so Iowa wrestling I could never understand why he left.
Someone more "in the know" than I can correct this, but I seem to recall that when Brands split with Jimmy Z and went east, Mocco wanted to follow, he (and any other current roster wrestler at the time) was blocked from following Brands, so he opted for Okie State...again, this was hearsay I've picked up on over the years, and have NO inside knowledge that this is fact, but on the surface it looks plausible....

that would make sense. He is the epitome of a Brands guy. His Flo videos are entertaining.

Steve is a BIG TIME Brands guy. They love IOWA and Iowa City. His wife is from Illinois so they spend a lot of time in the midwest. Lucky to have him train my kids. Boy #4 needed to drop a couple of pounds last year so we went over to ATT in the middle of the day so he could roll around and sweat a bit. Kyle Dake and his team were there. Can't pay for that level of coaching. And if you could I wouldn't be able to afford it.

So while Dake was there he coached your kid specifically?

Yes. Boy #3 was rolling around with Boy #4. As brothers often do, they began to argue. Dake came over and broke it down for them. Showed them how they could both actually be correct in their thinking. Spoke with them about the mental and physical aspects of wrestling. It was just him, his team, Steve, and my boys. These guys love the sport so much they want to see everyone succeed.

Are your boys good leg riders? Asking for a friend.
