Take a bow, Tony Perkins. 32 Points, 8-11 FG (72%), 15-16 (94%) from the Line.

Dude was money tonight. Every move into the lane you just knew he was going to make the shot.

What has been really good to see is that we have a whole bunch of guys that are capable of going off for over 20 on any night. Thank you Tony Perkins!

Now it is Josh Ogundele's turn to step up on Thursday vs Purdue to help against their 7'4 giant. We saw what he did vs Purdue in the B1G Championship game.

Have you heard about his status? Is he good to go? But how many minutes can he give us....

Have you seen anything on Ogundele's status?

Impressive day. Played freed up and in rhythm and needed every bit of what he had to give to get the W. Has to be a confidence builder which is just in time for the final push.

The guy was simply outstanding yesterday.

I don't mind if he takes the occasional open 3, but really would like to see him stick primarily to his mid range game. He was absolute cash money from 10-15 feet.

I was at the game yesterday. He warmed up and was dressed, but he wasn't moving like he was 100% healthy yet. We will see if he can play some on Thursday just to get a big body on Edey for a few minutes.

loved how we kept going to the hot hand

as mentioned above, the players were insisting it in the huddles

Can Perkins be our “go-to” guy next year, after Kris presumably leaves?

Almost every Fran team is is built around a go-to player. Kris this year. Keegan last year. Garza before that. Guys like Uthoff, Aaron White, Devyn Marble and Matt Gatens in the years prior. A lot of those guys have ended up being first-team All-Big Ten.

I’ve wondered before who it will be next year. If you had asked me a few months ago, I would have predicted Patrick McCaffery was next in line to be the go-to player. But now I’m thinking it could be Perkins. The key for him, I think, will be consistency.

Tony played great today. His problem as stated above is consistency. I checked stats and he has had 10 games with 10 or fewer points. And 7 of them were 6 or fewer. I think either Illinois didn't concentrate on keeping him out of the lane, or he just started going hard and then SQUARING up in the lane to shoot - none of this off balance fading away shots. When he is squared up he is goo.

I think he has been too indecisive this season. Too often he gets in the lane and doesn’t shoot. But that’s his strong point, the pull up jumper from 5-15 feet. Almost impossible to block.

Any way I look at this game Iowa cannot match up with Purdue, especially Edey. Not to mention they will be PO'd about the loss to Indiana. Iowa would have to shoot out of this world to win. JMO
No one can really match up with him but you have to make him play perimeter defense on the other end.

Iowa has 3 options to defend that they'll probably have to switch between.

First is Rebraca and they'll have to double. Problem is hes just going to bury Rebraca and it will be too deep to double effectively. You try to front as much as possible.

Second is to use the two bench bigs. (Hopefully Ogundele is ok to go) and make him score while staying home every where else. This isn't a bad option only if Josh can go because hed one of the few guys in the league who has a weight similar to Eddy.

Third is go super small with Kris at the 5 and 4 shooters. Triple team him on defense. Space the floor on offense and force Eddy to play Kris one on one 25 feet from the basket where he's completely incapable of succeeding.

Third option, gotta make sure Kris doesn't get in foul trouble.

What's the strategy to stopping mutant in the middle for Purdue?

On offense we have to beat him down the floor,.. On defense we double and hope they don't get hot from three,... Significant rebounding effort will be required from all...

Cool for Perk.
Watched mahaney in st Mary's game vs zags..very deserving also
