Taylor Swift breaks Ticketmaster

You gotta wonder why Ticketmaster kept pushing for these extreme prices? I get profit, but they know fully well that they have virtually no competition and that they are under risk of being broken up. It's like they were daring to be declared a monopoly.

Did they not sell out?

Look if a adult dude was going to a Taylor Swift concert on his own I would think that dude's a little weird. Because Taylor Swift doesn't make music for middle aged adult men.

I would go. Granted have never looked at getting a ticket - but if somehow had one, no problem - look at me weird.

She actually is pretty good.

She really shouldn’t have released all her venues at the same time, a couple a day could have stopped it. The crazy thing is that in total, we had 4 of the presale codes for this, and have 10 tickets for resale. Could have gotten more

Why do people not realize that not all music is ment to be marketed towards them?

Just like not every TV show or movie is marketed towards middle aged adult men, not every musician is marketed towards them either.

It is clearly made for middle aged men. You did see the thread full of HORT posters listening to Taylor Swift’s new album, right? This place is covered in Swifties.

Copying my post from the other thread.

The whole lottery, advanced wait list, etc. has become a dadgum fiasco? My no pics daughter has been planning to see her and was unable to get tickets. She's like, "Dad, it's easier to purchase a gun than Taylor Swift tickets!"

Despite Taylor's best effort to prevent scalpers from getting tickets, here we are. Tickets being sold for thousands of dollars while my kiddo sits at home. She's a teacher and can't afford $2K+ for 2 tickets.

Supply and demand is a basic concept that any educator should know and understand.

F! Now I have to return my tickets. 😡

In all seriousness I dig her music. There is just something catchy about it. Great treadmill songs too. From "Tim McGraw" to "Anti-Hero", I find myself singing along.

My wife got two, taking our daughter. She got them on the CapOne presale and with the dynamic pricing that TM uses (which is the artist decision and $$$ goes back to the artist) she paid 2x for the same seats that others did the day prior.

I think my wife paid $5-600 each for my daughter and her. She asked if I wanted to know what they cost and I said no thanks, I’m good.

Bingo. 2 floor seat $515 each (with fees). That’s insane, not resale market. Merry Christmas kid! Lol

No complaints though. This will be a great experience for our daughter and her first ever concert. I ponied up much more for WS tix last year with the Braves for our son. All about experiences over tangible junk.

I am really shocked at the costs for concert tickets. I was looking at Tyler Childers ticket -- who isn't hugely popular, but has a niche fan base. He's playing in smaller venues and I was thinking tickets would be $50-$80. Nope. $150 - $200 plus fees.

TM CEO said that 1.4 million verified fans were supposed to have access to tickets which would have sold about 1/2 the available tickets which would then been sold to the general public a few days later. Instead, over 14 million buyers were in the queue to get the verified tickets to include bots. So, they totally botched this. Can’t believe they don’t have a secure system to prevent this from happening.

Yep. It’s ridiculous

I'm a Taylor Swift fan. Shoot me.

I'm also a huge fan of Chris Stapleton, Fleetwood Mac, & Alter Bridge. My tastes aren't genre locked.

This is what I heard. Also heard that if all the people that got booted actually had gotten tickets it would have taken 2.5 years of Swift playing stadium venues every day to honor those tickets.

Last concert I went to was 21 Pilots in KC at the Sprint Center in the PL district. We bought 4 for $75 off the 21 Pilots web site. Sold 2 of them for $150 each. That was 4 or 5 years ago.

Old enough to remember actually having to buy tickets to concerts at the venue box office.

Bro, I just said there are clearly Taylor Swift fans here that are middle aged men. Why you guys getting so offended?

Fvck 2 floor seats at $515 each was cheap. My wife paid about $600 for just off the floor. I had 2 floor seats in my cart but didn't buy them when they ended up at $901 each

Sorry, that wasn't for you despite the quote. I typed it with a smile too (weren't you looking?)

I took my no pics daughters to see the Speak Now tour, then Red, then Reputation and wound up liking her myself.

I have something for everyone. Even Tswizzle fans. I do like to poke fun though.

It is kinda hot that she got into zippos like a year after I did. Same concept as fidget spinners but actually cool

There are multiple examples in this thread. Can you narrow it down? :)

Beyond people throwing $500+ on their credit cards to go see her, 7% of the US adult population that tried to buy tickets, the kicker in this thread was the guy touting his diversity in musical tastes because he listens to Alter Bridge when he's not polluting his ears with Taylor Swift

No issues with anyone who has issue with TS music. It's pop and in most cases I hate pop. However, if you don't think AB is talented, I can't help you.
