Agreed that a professional would have to mage that diagnosis. We already have the ability to retort people who could be a harm to themselves or others - it's just very difficult and time consuming.

I get the argument that this could be used inappropriately. To that I would say there needs to be justification for the report or civil action could be brought.

I'm interested in taking weapons away from people who are deemed unstable. Some on here want no part of that.

I don't think anyone is against what you are asking for, Just skeptical on who gets to decide who is unstable.

The key to it working is due process.

We had a guy that got ask to do an early retirement, over a comment about walking in with is AR, We'd loved to have had the ability to get them held away from him. At the time he probably had 6 or 8 of them. Fortunately, he chilled out after a while.
