Terps hire Buzz Williams

Great hire. Wins everywhere he goes and most are non traditional b-ball schools like VT and A&M. Problem is he never stays longer than 4-5 years.
Yep not quite a serial job hopper but yea. I think he may view the SEC as very tough to compete in currently and the BIG has as many resources as the SEC

Both are solid coaches in my opinion. As I’ve said I think Williams is kind of smart. After about 6 years anywhere unless you’re big time winning, the fan base always gets a bit restless. Good but not great, etc, can’t win enough. Needs to get to the elite 8. A & M has a lot of money. He seemed to recruit pretty well there. Maryland has a pretty good base. DC and Baltimore has a ton of players. I think he’ll do well.

So many good schools in Texas, too.
Houston, Texas Tech, Baylor, Texas (not this year)

Per a reliable source, and this is not earth shattering, buzz did not see eye to eye with TAMU athletic director - they weren’t funneling enough of NIL to men’s hoops.

Guy I know from Texas knows him. Guy can certainly coach but is kind of a strange cat. I think he wears out his welcome after being around for a bit.

Yes.

I just heard them talking about this the other day on local talk radio. He told someone that he indeed doesn't like to stay in one place too long as the expectations just keep getting ratcheted every year to unreasonable levels. And I suppose a sweeter contract awaits too.

Is that the ex Husker and AD Trev Alberts? I laughed when he left his alma mater for aTm. He even realizes the skirt fans are unrealistic freaks.
