I never used to buy in to the fact that Iowa State upped their game and played harder against Iowa but after watching this game it is blatantly obvious they don't play other teams with the same intensity. It's not even close.

You can watch the Cubs and Cardinals not give two flying f****s who wins the game tonight. I'm not surprised that the Cubs are phoning it in tonight but I expected at least a little fight out of the Cardinals. Those players already have their tee times for October.

It was pretty sweet to watch the Cubs Rob a game-tying HR to end the game and eliminate the cards from wildcard contention. I think they had the I Cubs out there tonight...

Yeah, that was a great ending to the game and definitely pouring salt into the wounds with the way that game finished. Honestly though, the Cardinals deserved to lose that game tonight. No fire against what was essentially the Iowa Cubs + Happ and Schwarber. It's not like Hendrichs pitched that deep into the game.

There's no reason the cards shouldn't have administered a beatdown and tried their luck against the Brewers. As such, I'm happy, though I'd actually rather the Cubs play the Brewers or cards than Rockies.
