Texas-Iowa State

Well, at least ISU can stop lamenting the unfotunate OT drop by Butler against Iowa.

Dude can't catch.

But Park is an all-right quarterback.

They looked better against us, but that's not the reason it was close. Our D was gutter that game! Half their points came from guys standing wide open.....

Man tx and the clowns both suck though!

lol at all those talking about them making a bowl game

Yeah, that was a great ending to the game and definitely pouring salt into the wounds with the way that game finished. Honestly though, the Cardinals deserved to lose that game tonight. No fire against what was essentially the Iowa Cubs + Happ and Schwarber. It's not like Hendrichs pitched that deep into the game.
they have high hopes for tseng!

Hawk D was gutter and didn't help there were hardly any blitzes to help force Park into quick throws. And Iowa doesn't have the athletes Texas has playing linebacker positions or at safety that shouldn't play then was subsequently benched for Hooker.

Texas was without SIX offensive linemen, I don't think I've ever heard of a number like that. Not sure what ISU's excuse was. what a sh$tty game.

I went with my buddy since I took him to the PSU game. He kept apologizing for the shitty crowd and completely uninspired football for this game. The game was a complete snoozer.

As for our D giving up 41, I wouldn't worry about that. Our defense is built to stop B1G offenses, not the spread. For better or worse.

My friend told me a lot how jealous he was of the PSU atmosphere.

I don't think we should read too much into how Iowa played defense in the second game of the year. I was has looked shitty playing Iowa State many times and went on to have a great season.

I never used to buy in to the fact that Iowa State upped their game and played harder against Iowa but after watching this game it is blatantly obvious they don't play other teams with the same intensity. It's not even close.
Yep

Park wouldn't be a starter at most reputable D-1 programs. The other problem they have is the dependability of the WRs. Lazard drops as many as he catches and the other guys are similar.

For a league that normally plays no defense... the two offenses last nite made both defenses look like elite AA type players.

Fortunately for me... the Packers/Bears game was a better way to watch football.

CMC looks lost on the sideline and the simple fact that Park is playing is a look of desperation.

BTW: The Lanning kid is a nice story, but man, he looks lost out there. Lost his jock on the td pass to the freshman.

I try to stay away from the transitive analysis. 2015 Northwestern beat Stanford, we beat Northwestern by 30 and then we know what happened in the Rose Bowl. But boy was that embarrassing last night. Funny how ISU made fun of us for a few empty seats. Kinnick was electric and the atmosphere has been commented on all week nationally. That stadium last night looked so pathetic. They only sold 51k in tickets and I bet there were a max of 40k in the stands at least after halftime. Between that, the performance by ISU, Park's entrance to the game, and Park and Campbell getting into it all on ESPN I almost felt sorry for them. I seriously did not have a clue what the hell I was watching. We know both defenses suck yet there was a combined 24 points?! Way to raise the standard ISU.

Iowa was breaking 4 1st year starters on defense and had 7 1st year starters on offense. for those that don't pay attention these were 1st year starters on Defense
DE RSSO Anthony Nelson
DT SO Lattimore
FS SO Hooker
LCB JR Jackson.

then on offense
QB SO Stanley
TE SO Fant
TE RSFR Hochenson
WR JUCO JR Easley
LT RSFR Jackson
RG JR Render who was supposed to be the LG
LG JR Reynolds

that made 11 1st year starters. this team is only going to get better. just think 8 FR played the year before and 9 FR have played this season, as Stanley gets more experience and the FR like WR Smith-Marsette and WR Brandon Smith get more in sync,
RB's RSFR Young and FR Martin-Manley are the future and a bright future it is. so sit back and enjoy to ride.

Park's entrance to the game

Curious what went on here. I didn't see and haven't heard anything said about this.

Social media (that I follow) have just been tweeting/commenting on the shoulder check that Campbell gave him.

He didn't do anything crazy, just a great example of what kind of low rent bag the guy is.

Texas beat ISU 17-7 while Maryland beat Texas 51-41 in years past Texas would have beat ISU by 35 points. hate to break it to you haters but ISU is getting better, this is Cambells 1st season, and the 18 recruiting class will be all his recruits. the 2018 class has 16 commits, 1 4*, 12 3* and 2 2* players, the 4* player is a 6'5 WR out of Oklahoma. both 2* players are kickers .

Yeah, not sure how much stock I'm putting into your opinion when you can't even figure out this is his second season or spell his name correctly.

And that "4*" WR is actually a 3* composite with offers currently from ISU, Kansas, Wyoming, SMU, and Southern Illinois. I might be impressed about this one when he gets a P5 offer outside of the worst two possible offers in the B12. I'll be really impressed if he then stays with his commitment at that point.

That...that didn't make a lot of sense. Is this a joke?

The first sentence basically says, Texas sucks, and when didn't suck they beat ISU a lot worse. Now that they suck almost as bad as ISU, they don't beat them as bad. After that it transitions into a post from a Nebraska fan pounding his chest on June 6th about a collection of athletes they will put on the field to run around like a bunch of 5 year old soccer players.

What did I miss?

I did check that 4*, since the description seemed fishy. He is indeed a 6'5" 4* WR from Oklahoma. The catch is that his only other power 5 offer is from Kansas.

Could you fill us in on why that is?

The only site that has him at a 4* is Rivals from what I can see. 24/7 (and their composite), Scout, and ESPN all have him as a 3*.

Would I take him at Iowa? IDK, probably. It's not like Iowa is just loaded with WR talent. But am I worried about him playing at ISU right now considering he is picking them over SMU and Kansas? Not really.

Kittle was just a 3* WR from Oklahoma and ended up a TE that is now with the 49'ers.

as for spelling his name or knowing how many years, don't follow the clowns,

as for turning your nose at Kansas according to ESPN they already have 3 4* recruits in the 18 class. in a class of just 11 commits to date,.

that what I get a kick out of this board, always trashing other teams. with out knowing what you are talking about.

Kilroy is back. Great.....

He has 2 power five offers, and is a four star...what gives? You also claim ISU is good because since Texas is bad, they didn't beat ISU as badly as they would have if they were good.

Your post still made no sense, and you answered absolutely nothing. If you are indeed Kilroy, then your post immediately does make sense, and I apologize.

the point is that Maryland scored as many points as they did while giving up 41 and people started hopping on the Maryland wagon now ISU hold Texas to 17 points, Park threw 3 INT's and basically shot themselves in the foot, ISU also held Texas to 312 total yards,

Park threw for 246 yards. other than Lazard I don't know anything about the quality of the other WR's, also Texas still recruits at a much higher rate than do the clowns.

this 4* WR out of Oklahoma looks to be Lazards replacement,

I want ISU to become a good team so that the Iowa vs ISU Game can stop being a lose lose game for Iowa, that game is not going away.

Cough, Pittsburgh Steelers cough cough.
Hayden Fry asked for permission to use their Uniforms. when they gave it Bradshaw sent his entire uniform including his helmet so it could be copied accurately. there is a difference from making a knock off and getting permission and getting the whole outfit to be copied.

Don't get it. For those thinking ISU getting competent is good for us get a clue. They could average 8 wins a year for the next 3 years (like KU and Rutgers did a few years back) and nationally they will still be ISU. ISU is grouped with those type of programs and didn't KU play in multiple, bowls including a BCS bowl? JFC, ISU needs to run the table for like 4 years before a win or loss helps us. Face it, they crush our SOS regardless of how they actually do. Sad and pathetic like their crowd and performance last night. Super Bowl was over a couple weeks ago. Proof in pudding.

in your simple mind, today things are changing. can't help people who can only hate.

What wing? Everything I said was 100 percent accurate. What does ISU being good help? I semi-rooted for them last night. But dear God. Half empty stadium, horrible performance, QB acts insane, all on national TV. JFC did you not hear a national radio show this morning saying Campbell took a step down from Toledo to go to ISU?! And that helps Iowa? Not a simple mind, an analysis. Tell me where I am wrong pal. That was beyond embossing last night. One thing to suck, another for ESPN to pan a half full stadium and continually talk about what a douche Park is. Wow buddy.

Campbell is just getting started it took 3 year for KF to post a winning record and Iowa is still considered a bottom feeding BT team, KF's 1st 3 years 1-10, 3-8 then 7-5. Iowa is not this Elite Team in the medias eyes, once you accept that fact then maybe you can understand why ISU getting better in FB helps Iowa. like it or not that 12-2 season in 2015 is considered a fluke Beating Michigan is still considered a upset, just like the game vs PSU Iowa was ac 12.5 underdog and is a 3 point underdog to MSU,

Miller of Hawkeye Nation predicted a 6-6 season and Vegas put thee over/under at 6.5 wins Iowa on the National level is IRRELEVANT. that's the cold hard truth.
