At least according to this study there are no more significant emergency room visits on Friday the 13th.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE: The aim of the study was to evaluate the risk of Friday the 13th on hospital admission rates and emergency department (ED) visits.

METHODS: This was a retrospective chart review of all ED visits on Friday the 13th from November 13, 2002, to December 13, 2009, from 6 hospital-based EDs. Thirteen unlikely conditions were evaluated as well as total ED volumes. As a control, the Friday before and after and the month before and after were used. χ(2) Analysis and Wilcoxon rank sum tests were used for each variable, as appropriate.

RESULTS: A total of 49 094 patient encounters were evaluated. Average ED visits for Friday the 13th were not increased compared with the Friday before and after and the month before. However, compared with the month after, there were fewer ED visits on Friday the 13th (150.1 vs 134.7, P = .011). Of the 13 categories evaluated, only penetrating trauma was noted to have an increase risk associated with Friday the 13th (odds ratio, 1.65; 95% confidence interval, 1.04-2.61). No other category was noted to have an increase risk on Friday the 13th compared with the control dates.

CONCLUSIONS: Although the fear of Friday the 13th may exist, there is no worry that an increase in volume occurs on Friday the 13th compared with the other days studies. Of 13 different conditions evaluated, only penetrating traumas were seen more often on Friday the 13th. For those providers who work in the ED, working on Friday the 13th should not be any different than any other day.

Taking my 25 and 8 year old to the Friday the 13th marathon this evening. My 13 year old is going to Taylor swift movie with mom…I know who’s gonna have a better night👍🏿

Friday the 13, time for invasion and sacrifice of another teams message board. nominations? Start with troll thread of hands.

I'm so old I don't remember posting that.

Funny story-the young couple next door are into archery and have targets set up in their garage. (Shoot from the yard into their garage for safety.) They even hunt with bow and arrows. So today on Friday the 13th, the wife comes over and asks if she can retrieve an arrow from our back yard. A squirrel picked up a spent arrow, climbed into our tree and dropped it in our yard:) I went and got it for her. (Sorry no pics but she is a petite, young brunette.)

What is penetrating truama? Is that people shoving things up their butt?

Yes my 8 year old. Scary movies have been a thing since my oldest turned 5. We watched the original Halloween together. It hasn’t been scary to any of my daughters so far (all introduced to Halloween at the age of 5. It’s hard to scare them when they watch because it is so outdated. I won’t introduce the newer ones to them as they are too realistic looking. Hell my 8 year old and I watched Jaws-3 this week. It was her call on all of them

Of course I didn't realize why until I got much older but my parents used to send my older sister and me to the movies on Friday nights. Some of the films like The Magnificent Seven and Ben Hur I enjoyed. I enjoyed some of the scary ones too BUT I still seem to have the occasional nightmare based on haunted houses after seeing The Haunting, House On Haunted Hill and The Tingler when I was 5-7 years old. Their date night fell apart when the theater in town burned down:)

I get that you were afraid but you didn’t have to burn down the theater. Some people probably really enjoyed that place.
