Thanks, Iowa!

Yup, all because of losing to lowly and terrible program that is IOWA is why OSU did not get it.

Nice. Top 5 paid, right?

A lot of money to be considered overall a laughing stock.

Is it safe for me to drive thru Ohio with tiger hawk on my car?

Absolutely. OSU fans see the loss to Iowa as Ohio State’s fault for not playing to their potential, more than Iowa beating them. Personally I give credit to Iowa for its victory, as teams are each responsible to playing to their best.

But to answer your question, I have not heard a single fan angry at Iowa for winning. Angry at the results, but not at the Hawkeyes.

It's because we won by 31 points.

Clemson lost to 4-8 Syracuse and is #1. Oklahoma lost to Iowa State and is still playing for a national title. Difference with them is that they had close losses.

I am sure Ohio St fans are also blaming it on scheduling Oklahoma in the non-conference.

Or OSU fans

They are interviewing the committee head right now. The Ohio State debacle at Iowa was the Buckeyes demise. Bless you!

Wow, I had no idea there were any Purdue fans out there this ignorant. Do you have any idea how much harder this precedent of two teams from one conference makes it for teams like Purdue and Iowa to make the playoff in the years they win the B1G? Keep celebrating though, I guess moral victories truly are for minor league cultures like PU.

If they lose in conference by 31 to a 7-5 team giving up 55 to a team who then sets a record for fewest yards gained by a ranked team they don't deserve a spot. Iowa or Purdue avoid getting pounded at home and a blow out loss to an average team and then win the BiG they are in the playoff. O$U has O$U to blame.

Are you actually denying the fact that selecting a second team from one conference, a team that has ZERO top 15 wins on the year, will make it significantly harder for teams like Iowa to make the playoff in the future?

I can absolutely obliterate your HILARIOUSLY flawed logic with point:

Do you actually think there is any chance in the world that an Iowa team that has zero top 15 wins and doesn't go to the B1G championship makes the playoff?!?!?!? Therefor, the inclusion of such teams significantly hurts Iowa's future chances of being selected, because there is a finite number of spots.

I can see your thankfulness to the U of I. How much do you think Bama is lovin' on Iowa right about now? The bad thing is that Bama weaseled their way in bc of it. Bring on a 8 team playoff please!!

Agree, you don’t win your conference don’t get in. Independent like ND without conf champ game should not get in. This system sucks but doubt the idiots in charge change anything.

Perhaps if you re read my point. You are moving the target. Your initial premise was about O$U. If Iowa or Purdue win the BIG without getting blown out in conference or getting punted at home than today's choice will have absolutely no impact on whether the BIG champion makes it or not. O$U allowed Bama to be in play for this choice.

WTF are you talking about?

This was obviously the initial premise of my post:

"Do you have any idea how much harder this precedent of two teams from one conference makes it for teams like Purdue and Iowa to make the playoff in the years they win the B1G?"

It was also the key point of my last post. You're the one moving the goal posts because you weren't smart enough to carry out what the committees logic means for teams like Purdue (and Iowa) in the future. Keep the comedy coming though.

This precedent only makes it more difficult if the BIG champion loses big to an average team and gets punked at home OC. Ohio State lost this year by 46 points. Previously the other 12 teams in the playoffs lost by 57 points total. Last years precedent would have more of an impact than what happened this year.

The process has one goal. Select the four best teams. Where they come from is not supposed to matter. Having two teams from one conference is not ideal. But you’ll be hard pressed to find many folks who truly believe OSU is a better team this year than Alabama. OSU got the nod last year and then got embarrassed by Clemson. Committee chose to avoid that scenario again and Iowa delivered the perfect rationale to justify it. Clemson and OK had bad loses too but by slim margins. The Buckeyes in Kinnick, not so much.

Hilarious. We could write what you know about probability on the head of a pin. You were better off when you were clearly lying to say I had moved the goalposts.

Taking two from one conference is a huge disadvantage to "non-traditional power" conference champs moving forward. Only a buffoon would deny this. There is zero chance teams like Iowa get in if they don't even play in their conference championship game and haven't beaten a top 15 team all year like Alabama this year. This precedent clearly significantly hurts those types of teams, and helps the Alabama's and OSU's of the world over the long term. It's a horrible decision by the committee whether people like you and the OP realize it or not.

The more dangerous precedent was last years choice. Call me a buffoon all you want. O$U loses to Iowa by 3 or beats OU they are in. If Iowa or Purdue are BIG champs with their only loss being to O$U on the road they get in.

No its different bc Nick Satan is such an unbearable cheating evil dbag. Otherwise I agree w/ you. If Nick Satan was a superhero he'd be Captain Hypocrite

Satan is who Satan is, his comments from last year need to be seen in their entirety. Urban however is a disingenuous DB. 'My health is bad, I want to watch my kids grow up..... wait, what's that? O$U is open? I feel great and my kids won't miss me' glad Iowa could do this to them.

if the only lost to a quality team like isu and syracuse LMAO

yes if you get your butt handed to you by iowa you need not be in a 4 team playoff , Iowa lost to purdue and had a little trouble early with north texas , if iowa played isu a couple weeks later isu would have won
the iowa team osu played was no where near the same team PU played.
not exactly uncommon with ferentz teams.
ISU....LMAO yeah ok. Our D played horribly and we still won. Nice try though
