Thanks, Iowa!

Not really. At least tOSU beat Oklahoma last year. Alabama has no such wins this year. I can't believe this committee passed over two conference champs for a pretty mediocre Alabama team.
OSU got in on pedigree last year. Alabama this year. Unfair to say that Alabama played nobody just because Florida State stunk up the joint after their QB was injured (by Alabama). FSU was supposed to be a top 10/top 5 team when they scheduled them OOC. SEC West is down, but it's still no joke. Big Ten East was down, and tOSU was blown out on the road (still can't believe I lucky enough to be in Kinnick that day) at Iowa. And we're not in any discussion this year. We went 4-5 in conference. I would argue for USC over OSU, but I have no problem with Alabama getting in. OSU was blown out by Clemson last year which did not help the decision in retrospect. If Alabama is blown out, same questions. There were 3 teams who put-up at the right time this year and they had to pick a 4th team. Since they'll never take an undefeated AAC champ, I have no problem with them picking Alabama.

Alabama hasn't beat anyone this year in the top 15. That's a fact. Their best win is against LSU a team that lost to Troy. Alabama didn't win their division or conference. They played an easy non-conference and only played 8 conference games. IF your schedule is that weak you better at least win the conference. Alabama had neither a strong schedule or a conference title. Wisconsin has about the same argument as Alabama, both played equal schedules and didn't win their conference.

Can't argue that Wisconsin doesn't have an appeal over them. That's where perception/pedigree unfairly matters. Timing is a bitch for them. But not OSU this year. The committee had to pick a 4th team. They set the precedent last year with taking 1-loss OSU as a non-conference champ. USC > OSU this year. Alabama gets in on pedigree over Wisconsin.

I can see your thankfulness to the U of I. How much do you think Bama is lovin' on Iowa right about now? The bad thing is that Bama weaseled their way in bc of it. Bring on a 8 team playoff please!!
When you had a 2 team playoff, #3 complained...when you have a 4 team, #5 complains...8 team, wonder if #9 will complain? Heck, 64 in basketball and you still have complaining. Leave it at 4...teams with two losses don't deserve to play for a national championship.

Alabama not only didn't win their conference, they didn't even win their division. Unreal.. hard to comprehend.

tOSU had a much stronger schedule with wins over Oklahoma in 2016. Their one loss was by 1pt on a fluke play and they made it in over another team in the same conference. Not the same set of facts at all.

Actually a closer comparison would have been tOSU not making it in 2015.

So then it's OSU, USC, or Wisconsin. Who do you pick from that bunch? I say USC. I think 3 teams earned it this year and they had to pick a 4th team. They picked a 1-loss team who was idle yesterday over two 2-loss teams who won their conference and a 1-loss Wisconsin team who was soundly beat yesterday.

Could it be they just hate Ohio St like most of us do?

Wow, I had no idea there were any Purdue fans out there this ignorant. Do you have any idea how much harder this precedent of two teams from one conference makes it for teams like Purdue and Iowa to make the playoff in the years they win the B1G? Keep celebrating though, I guess moral victories truly are for minor league cultures like PU.

There's only one team that I would like to see in the playoff less than OSU, and that's Alabama.

if you dont win your conf you have no reason to whine

I just think there should be a very compelling reason if the committee decides to pass up a conference champ. There wasnt one in Alabama's case. It's pretty suspect.
