That "Lia Thomas" is a real piece of work

@Huey Grey Your framing is all wrong and I don't accept it.

We're starting from the perspective that biological males have an advantage of biological females in most sport, often to a large degree. (this is obvious to all)

Therefor they shouldn't compete against one another.

You need to be able to prove that something like hormonal transition over X period of time somehow levels the playing field, so to speak. Which would also require understanding all the ways males might be advantaged.

We don't have that sort of evidence and the studies you've shared don't offer anything near a definitive conclusion.

No, the military data showing that after 2 years pushups & sit-ups (but apparently not running) normalized across transitioners and their gender hardly digs deep enough into the complexities associated with advantage to make the call.

Nor does the cited stuff in the article you posted about Lia's performance as a male. (in fact, it only reinforced some concerns)
The evidence does show that after two years hormonal therapy levels the playing ground. At this point you are just intentionally ignoring all of the links I've supplied.

Just an incredible amount of bigotry in this thread. You guys should be ashamed of yourselves. Oh and not that you will read this, but here's the truth to all the handwringing you're doing over this.

Throw on some makeup, a wig, and tuck in your junk or cut it off if you really want, I don't care as it's your life, but get out of the Olympics vs our daughters who worked their ass off their whole life to get there.

Have a nice day.

Except there is no unfair advantage for fully transitioned females. It would absolutely be relevant if science pointed towards an unfair advantage. But the studies find the opposite.
500th to 5th

"According to a search of USA Swimming records, in the last season where Ms Thomas competed in men's events, she came in ninth across the entire country in the 1,000 yard freestyle and 29th in the 1,650 yard freestyle"

The disable are already a protected class. So what's the point of this?
I assume another weak attempt by the despicable Rs to make them feel ostracized. I saw it just now and thought it might be pertinent.,

Of course you side with a pervert that likes to undress in front of women and then steal their glory in swim meets. And just on que you cry bigotry/sexism/racism/etc. Whenever the left takes an asinine position, they call names.

I believe everyone should be treated equally, but when it comes to athletics we ban athletes with higher than a specific testosterone count. There is a biological born female runner from Africa that's banned because her levels naturally surpass the limit. How do you ban her and let transitioned athletes compete? Steroid users cycle to beat tests, but some of the muscle gains remain. I still call it an unfair advantage, same as a transitioned athlete.

I can't believe I'm contributing to this thread just for this, but have you ever thought about the level of bias involved in any of the "evidence" or "data" that supports you on this topic? Bias is extremely difficult to remove from even well designed and controlled studies. Be intellectually honest.

Once again, some of these are military studies. You're really claiming military studies are riddled with woke bias? Be intellectually honest.

Why isn't science working to correct the abnormalities of the brain, be they chemical or mental, rather than chopping off then altering natural body parts? Where is science when you really need it?
Hey, why isn't science curing me and making me straight? These arguments are lousy AF.

Cure is the wrong word here. Trans isn't a disease it's an abnormality by definition. Science works on other abnormalities, raises boatloads of money in fact. I'll bet you would oppose science looking for the answers...

Lots of things are abnormalities. Being left handed used to be viewed as abnormal. Being gay used to be considered abnormal.

As to your drug point, do you think that you could take a drug that would make you want to become a woman? If not, then why would you think they could develop a drug to make a trans woman want to stay a man?

The test measured how many pushups in a set number of time subjects could do both before and after transitioning. Explain where the bias could be?

In the subjects themselves of course. If this is the study you keep referencing you have lost your damned mind and or are not a serious person.

This makes zero sense. So the subjects have bias so this somehow changes the number of pushups they can do? And what about the subjects who went f to m? They can now do a lot more pushups. That's just bias in your mind? Your arguments are getting dumber by the minute.

You voted for a guy who liked to walk around the Miss Teen USA dressing room. Partied with a known pedophile. Admits to sexually assaulting women. Maybe you don’t want to go here with anyone else.

A guy with a dick winning ncaa titles in women’s swimming is a hill some want to die on defending.

Be loud about it.
While I don't lose sleep over it, like ED does, I can honestly say it really is complete and utter disservice to biological women and shouldn't even be considered. I guess I'm only LGBQ when it comes to athletics.

People equating transgenderism to race are making a false argument. Choices have rewards and consequences. No one chose to be born white or black or chinese. Choosing to trans yourself may give you some kind of peace of mind that you are living your truth, and I respect your right to be you. But part of the consequences of that choice is you may have to give up other things to be your authentic self.

No one says this dude can't swim... he just can't swim against the girls in a competition. He still gets to tuck his junk, wear a skirt, and call himself Lia. He could even still swim against other dudes in competition. In no way have his rights been restricted or violated.
