THC Drinks Growing in Eastern Iowa

People would prefer free range pasture fed weed, to weed from indoor confined plant feeding operations.
I think you are being sarcastic but you are actually right on this. If done right, outdoor will always be more potent

Fun fact for anyone in the Cedar Valley area.....Happy's is going to be opening a CBD and Home Brewing store a couple doors down from their spot now. Found that out this weekend from the owner. Hoping they'll be able to get some of the THC drinks from Modist up in Minneapolis.
Happy's CBD and Home Brew is officially open. The gf no pics stopped 2 nights ago. They've got some nice stuff. We picked up a bottle of Delta 9 liquid. Zero calories, and very very very little taste. It's a friggin great addition to literally any kind of drink. I'm planning on going there tomorrow to check out the edible scene.

Tell me about Happy's. I was too young probably if it was open when I lived in Waterloo/CF

It's a wine and spirits store in CF. It's my go-to spot for craft beer in the area. They started selling the delta stuff there earlier this year/maybe late last year. The verizon shop at the end of the little strip mall closed it's doors awhile back, and I guess the folks that own Happy's own the whole building. So they opened a CBD/THC/Home Brewing shop in the old Verizon spot.

Yeah it’s the best spot for booze in the cedar valley. I’m pumped to give this a try

Is the no calorie liquid stuff from that Riverbluff company or another hemp brand?

It's a different brand. This is the stuff. It's 125mg of Delta 9 THC total. Cost $37 I think, which is a pretty solid deal. The Climbing Kites cost like $25 for a 4 pack of the 5mg cans.

I think you should be getting like 5x that amount for $37. Climbing kites are a ripoff too. Paying for the can.

Stopped at Local Craft Cellar on the way home last night and bought a couple of 4 packs. Have to read closely, some are 5mg THC some only 2.5mg. Not a huge seltzer guy so I mixed mine with a little tea. Pretty damn good. And one of the 5mg's gave me a little buzz pretty quick. Could get really crazy and make Vodka Soda's out of them, maybe Gin.
Local Craft posted on their facebook today that apparently there's an amendment being introduced and voted on tomorrow. It'll either limit all products to 2.5mg THC (which is absolutely nothing) or it'll completely ban these types of products from being made.

So basically they want everyone to take all their money to the surrounding states instead of spending it at home. Iowa politicians are so ****ing stupid.

I would say support your local drug dealers but they've honestly gotten lazy and are now exclusively catering to the brick weed demand. Apparently 5th graders are smoking weed again.

I had only had the 5mg and 10mg beverages, tried a 2.5mg Climbing Kites and it was like drinking a can of juice or something. I felt nothing, except regret for buying it.

Here's the email that Big Grove/Climbing Kites sent out this morning:

Good morning, we're in urgent need of your help.

Today is a very important day for Climbing Kites and the hemp industry here in Iowa. There is a bill in the Iowa legislature that would add some needed regulations to our hemp industry. Climbing Kites has been supportive of the bill, but we have learned there will be an amendment introduced that would limit all products to 2.5mg THC. This would be an effective ban on our product and hemp-derived THC products in Iowa.

Climbing Kites has always been and will always be a good actor in this industry and we feel our products are a great option for so many people.

The legislature is set to vote on this ban tomorrow, Wednesday, March 6. If it passes, the hemp industry in Iowa will be gutted. We are asking our fans to reach out to their local state representatives and senators to let them know who you are and express your concerns about this effective ban. Please use the link below to find the contact information for your local reps.

We ask that you do this as soon as possible. There won't be a second chance to stop this bill from becoming law.

How to find and contact your local representatives:

First, look up the names of your state senator and representative using this tool: (FIND MY LOCAL REPRESENTATIVE). Then decide how you want to contact them.

Email

Send an email from a personal email account unless you are contacting the lawmaker as part of your job.

Lawmakers' email addresses follow this pattern: firstname.lastname@legis.iowa.gov. You'll also find their email address by clicking on their name to the left of their photo.

Phone

Iowa Senate

Call the Senate switchboard at (515) 281-3371 and ask to be connected to your state senator or leave a message. Here's an example of what to say: “Hi, I'm [Name] and I'm a constituent of [Senator Last Name]. I live in [City]. I'm calling to ask [Senator Last Name] to [action you want them to take] because [ ____________________ ]."

Iowa House

Call the House switchboard at (515) 281-3221 and ask to be connected with your state representative or leave a message. Here's an example of what to say: “Hi, I'm [Name] and I'm a constituent of [Representative Last Name]. I live in [City]. I'm calling to ask [Representative Last Name] to [action you want them to take] because [ ____________________ ]."

Whether you're calling the Senate or the House, make your request clear, concise, and respectful. You can talk about your experience with the issue, but remember, you will likely be speaking to switchboard staff who will write down your message. We recommend keeping it very simple.

We're grateful for your time and attention on this important matter as we continue pointing our efforts toward safely and sustainably growing the hemp beverage industry in our home state.

They've quickly devolved into nannystate moralists. It's all pretty dumb and shortsighted.

My buddy that works in Portland just texted me and said he and the Mrs. are going on a couples weekend of golfing and dining in the wine country of Washington this weekend, so he went to get something to chill on at night. His weed sommelier suggested a cookie that has 100 mg in it. My buddy said he didn’t want to chop it all up, just wanted something single dose, and the guy says he eats a full cookie, “all the time”. This guy went to IC West, but even he thought that was too much.
The 10 mg drinks in this thread turn me into a zombie, I can’t imagine what 100 mg would do to me.

I snagged a 4 pack of Climbing Kites Hot Batch yesterday (15mg). I believe the House and Senate both passed legislation to limit it to 4mg per serving or 10mg per container, but Kim hasn't signed it yet. I could be wrong on that. I believe originally they were pushing for a 2.5mg limit.

This is my understanding as well.

Also, did you try one of the Hot Batch yet? I haven't bought those yet.

2.5mg limit? God Iowa R’s are a bunch of tools.

10mg is going to mess with a few folk’s plans, but that’s fairly reasonable I guess. They should have just focused on age limits and distribution IMHO.

Get the Hot Batch before the Cold Witch of Terrace Hill mothers the Iowans she trusts to do the right thing!

I have not yet. I wasn't going to get them, but then I figured if they won't be available anymore, I might as well. Maybe Saturday night!

I suppose it will depend on what is permitted. If they had a big pack of 10 mg gummies/caramels, will they just sell those individually wrapped now, and how does that affect pricing?

I know a few guys in the biz…they’ll know a lot more than me about the proposed law and the work arounds. I haven’t seen them since I’ve been back but will get the scoop this weekend.

The market is always going to be a step ahead of the legislation, in regards to serving size, package size, strength, etc. So, the State is going to have to chase them each year, until they wise up (if they ever do) and embrace the tax revenue. Kim might even be able to achieve her goal of no state income tax.

And there's Kimberly math in action. It's queued right up for you sweetheart but you're too much of a dunce to figure out 1 - 1 = 0. And go phuck yourself with your ethics OWI x 2. I'm full up on fake christian grandstanding.
