The B1G Regular Season Champion will be Decided by Win Percentage. Michigan will Clinch Top Winning Percentage by Winning 1 of Final 2 Games

Foolish to agree to win % without at least a required threshold for games played,.. Illinois has a beef here. Michigan played the system to their advantage...

In the Chicago Tribune article, it states that the Illini AD voted TWICE, and as recently as Feb. 26, with his colleagues, to go with win percentage to decide champions.

He and the other ADs (other than Michigan) obviously had not thought it out, all the way through.

Two ridiculously annoying hit pieces from the ever-classy Chicago media, lol. Whitman addressed in his letter why a decision made in November should not be upheld in the CURRENT CIRCUMSTANCES, and rightfully pointed out that the Big Ten is more than willing to ~be flexible~ when it wants to ... and at a time when it is incredibly logical to do so, they didn't even want to hear it.

Anyone like Kevin Warren?? Anyone think the Big Ten has acted with integrity on this type of thing over the past several months?? Anyone talking shlt toward Whitman - someone who is INCREDIBLY well-respected among his colleagues and wrote that letter in a ridiculously professional way, considering the circumstances - needs to check their anti-Illini bias at the door. The guy stood up for his players, and any AD who didn't do a similar thing here would be a frickin' pansy, if you ask me. What Shannon Ryan (notoriously bitter that she still has to be a college sports beat writer at a ~pro sports paper~) and whoever the hell that fat old Sun-Times guy say is hilariously irrelevant, haha. I'm sure all of the dozens of readers of their papers will take a lot from this.

The B1G had no problem changing the rules in determining its football champion.

Not sure why the B1G is not flexible in this case.

I have said it before, I will say it again..

Do I like the Illini? No. Can I be unbiased here? Yes.

(1) Illini have 16 wins; Mich has just 14

(2) The Illini are in 1st place by 1/2 game, as seen here. Mich is clearly in SECOND Place

.......................GB
ILL.......16-4....--
MICH..14-3....1/2

Mich & ILL should be co-champs

This shouldn't be that hard. But everything has been a joke ever since Kevin Warren took over.

Who cares what some dopey sportswriter says. Whitman said the decision is final, not that the Illini would continue to fight it. He did not cut out lines like "give me liberty or give me death" for space constraints. That's just a hit piece. He also did not elaborate that Michigan could have played the games and that the right, logical decision was not made. Not for lack of Illini AD lobbying, but for whatever reason. And it is correct to say the decision will live in Illini fandom infamy. Too bad a sportswriter does not understand the lifelong value of a B1G regular season championship. It means a lot to the teams, players and fans. The B1G goofed but at least Warren has a white knight fighting for his right to make bad decisions.
