Alright, we will get you through this, let's start here, what type of bird are you hoping to attract? Are we talking multi family units or are you thinking more single family? Are you looking at more of a rental type situation where it may be visited by different birds each year or more of an own situation where a migrating bird may come back year after year? Does material matter? Any allergies we should be aware of? If we are wanting to keep something in your budget you're looking for smaller, possibly used, higher quality or something newer but let's be honest, today's materials suck for your price point, maybe not the worst option for a beginner who may or may not stay with the hobby, long term cost, likely higher.

I don't think that's bad when you look at how many pieces of wood that took to make. Some little Chinese kid probably got multiple splinters assembling that thing.
