I suppose I lost interest after around the 5th post. It seemed like typical banter on a team's home site. Seemed no worse than here, or the cyclones, or the huskers.

The Bison travel awfully well. There were a great many of them in the stands at Trice a couple of years ago, likewise at Manhattan the year before that.

I don't think that's true at all. Nearly all the posters on their site have picked Iowa to win. There are few overzealous morons but you get that on every message board.
A lot of them are just reacting to a few Iowa trolls going on their board. Same thing happens here
I don't about delusion but NDSU has a far cooler mascot. The mighty North American Bison is maybe the coolest mascot/nickname you could have. Certainly both more frightening and intimidating, we well as being somewhat more bon vivant than a Bugeater or whatever the hell that mascot is in Lincoln. I mean, do you really want to go helmet to helmet with this guy?
Fortunately Hawks can soar above collision and speed past bison.
I didn't go to their board, so I have no idea what's being said. I'm basing it off of what many of their posters have said on here. Granted, a couple have been decent, but most of them posting have been turds.
I'm also probably influenced by a friend of mine who went to North Dakota--he's a big hockey fan--and he has said on multiple occasions that ND State fans are douche bags. Given what I've seen of them on here, I'm not inclined to disagree with my friend.

If I had to live in North Dakota, I'd travel well too.
Me too. Nationwide, it's much more popular than a sport like wrestling for a reason.
I personally have nothing but respect for NDSU, plus their QB is a local Omaha kid which adds even more interest for me in this game. However, there is an almost 0% chance they win this game. Even if they had their best team of the past 5 years with Carson Wentz at the helm, the chance would still be almost zero. Having a player or two with NFL talent does not nullify going against a team that has NFL talent at almost ALL positions. There is a HUGE difference between what they will see with Iowa this year compared to the FBS teams they've defeated in the past. Just like in college basketball (where the the talent gap is much less than FCS vs FBS), a team can get up and play with their hair on fire for one game and "shock the world", most certainly. But, to the comments I've seen about how'd they rank in the B1G are comical...Getting up for *1* game is one thing, but getting pounded every week by teams with bigger, faster athletes would be decimating. I would concede that a team like Purdue might be the one exception, but that's it.

All I said is given what I've seen on this board I'm not going to debate my friend's opinion about ND State fans. And for the record, yes, I've felt a couple of them have been decent. You being one of them.

I cannot fathom this team, with the amount of talent on it, losing to an FCS team at home. This year's team has just as much if not more talent than the 2002 and 2009 teams.

This. I respect Iowa fans and the team you've built. Realistic Bison fans don't think that this will be an easy game for us, and fully realize that if we play like we played the first couple games that it could be a pretty bad blowout by halftime. Not that I'm saying our team isn't really good for our level, but it is similar to Alabama playing a NFL team. On the perfect day it might be a game but the odds would probably be against it. I do think our current team is nearly as talented as our best teams over the last 5 years but they looked very unpolished in those first two games. Lots of penalties, defense not being where they need to be, blown coverage, and players playing as individuals and not as a team. Talent and discipline are two different things and the combination of both being executed well is what has made the Bison so good for so many years. We looked extremely undisciplined compared to what we are used to seeing and it was obvious. This team just hasn't gelled yet. That's ok though. Last years team didn't fully gel until playoffs. If things get cleaned up (like we're used to) for this game I do think we do have a shot at a win but the odds are probably not good. Win or lose, I just want to see a good, clean, well played game.
