IMO this is the best Men's BB coach hire of 2025. And I say this not because I am a Hawk fan.

BG has not had a lot to do--Hire the WBB coach was a lay up, but she hit a home run on the MBB--the easy way out would have been to allow Fran to come back but BG showed some grit--did what needed ot be done and went out and got probably the best coach we could hope for so I am not sure why you are bagging on BG.........
Not much. The record speaks for it self. Like I said, decidedly unimpressive. Even outright embarassing in some cases.

Iowa Football: 6th place
Iowa Women's CC: 16th place finish/18 teams
Iowa Men's CC: 13th place finish/15 teams
Iowa Field Hockey: 7th place finish/10 teams
Wrestling: 2nd place
Iowa Women's Basketball: 4 way tie for 8th place.
Iowa Men's Basketball: 5 way tie for 12th place
Iowa Women's Gymnastics: 5th place/12 teams
Iowa Women's Swim and Diving: 14th place finish/14 teams
Iowa T&F: Women 7th/Men 2nd
Iowa Softball 2014: 14th place finish/14 teams
Iowa Baseball 2014: 4th place fishing/13 teams

So you think that 1 full year into the AD job she should be evaluated based upon all of these programs competing for titles? Makes total sense.
Or maybe you could give it a few years and see where these programs, particularly the big profile programs, sit relative to where they were before she arrived. She's already had a significant impact on the 2 highest profile programs, getting rid of the worst OC in history, and now the HC change to a moribund basketball program with cratering attendance. That's not a bad start.

Gheez. We have a great hire that's potentially program changing just come in today and people are bitching at other fans. I thought Fran and KF were what caused us to be so divided but I guess I was just wrong. Some people bitch about everything, even the obviously good things.
This is a fact: Beth hired a good, young, and sought after coach and deserves some recognition for doing her job well. We want success no? This is a big step in the right direction. I've a feeling people will be laughing and criticizing this post over the next two years when he proves he's a cut above the rest.

I think it's just the nature of social media. Some people aren't happy unless they've got someone to argue with. Not sure what it is with people anymore, but I try my best to ignore and stay out of it.
We got the coach who was #1 on my list (out of realistic options anyway), so I'm just enjoying the moment. Life's to short not to enjoy days like this.
