Disagree. Iowa offense not able to get ball into endzone. Wisky did.
Offense could have driven for a touchdown when up 17 14 and iced it. Offense only 17 points on 4 red zone possessions
Team loss, all phases could have done better.
The offense needed to get more but the defense couldnt get off the field on that last drive. WHen you dont get any pressure on the QB and sit in a soft zone, any QB can pick you apart. Hornibrook does terribly with pressure and Iowa provided no pressure. This was a collective lose
Either way we lost... and we lost because of meat headed plays or the lack of plays how many times we had Wisconsin down at their own 10-15 yard line.. sorry but the defense couldn’t stop anyone today

+1 on the team loss. I thought Iowa was slightly better in some ways in that we were able to get a good push in the running game. It was truly a very, very even matchup all the way around. Overall Wisconsin was more tidy and polished when the game was on the line and took advantage of every single one of our mistakes. I think Wisconsin will get handled by Michigan and I think even Nebraska could present them with some very difficult matchup problems so I'm not sure this thing is settled quite yet.

This is the Hawkeye special when they have a small lead at the end of the game. This was not the defenses fault that we lost. Offense looked great at times, and then horrible at times. Defense did pretty well besides the last drive of the game. You cant turn the ball over and have sloppy play and expect the defense to save your ass every game.
Hmm, if one guy didn't cost us two turnovers, that last drive would have been irrelevant.
Of the three phases, this loss is least acreditable to the defense.

What seems obvious is the once again, we gave the opponent a chance to win on the final drive. Scoring more points makes the final drive irrelevant . 17 points wont win many game against quality competition.
And still there we were, with the lead and Wisco with the ball at their own 10. If the D would've gotten a stop, game over. Not hard to understand.
And if the D would've stepped up and gotten the stop, we get the W.
Defense was supposed to be strength of team. They gave up close to 6 yards on 1st down and couldn't stop the run. When they did sell out to stop the run, they let a mediocre QB light them up. Beyer's had a screwup, but doesn't mean you give up a TD on 3rd and goal from the 10.

Disagree even more. Coaching cost the game. Bad play calling and not taking advantage of opportunities early on lost us the game.

I would place more blame on special teams then either the defense or offense. Two special team turnovers were the killer. Remove them, different outcome on the scoreboard.

Yeah that's true. Especially after reviewing the box score. Iowa lead in nearly every category but the turnovers stick out like a sore thumb. Fun fact: bucky had 8 penalties for 68 yards. Iowa? Just one penalty for five yards.
This. Every other phase of the game, although not perfect, was good enough to win the game against a very good Wisconsin team. Two “fluke” special team turnovers killed us tonight.

Look up Iowa's record when they've scored 24 or more points during the Ferentz era. 17 points and hope the defense holds = a lot of disappointed fans.
It sure feels like win or lose in close games we always end up with our D on the field. It seems very rare that when given the chance to clinch things with a score or running out the clock p that we actually can do it
Doesn't help when they kept taking Fant out of the game on critical third down plays at the end of the game. Yea don't need him at all during passing situations. moronic.
