Should have dealt with Russia while we were there in WWII. We have just been postponing the inevitable with them for 80 years.

The thing Wolff misses is that China has a big demographic problem, and economically they are dependent on the U.S.
I do think the American empire is ending, but I don’t see anyone stepping up to take the mantle.
That’s part of the reason I think this whole tinderbox will go up sooner rather than later. It seems the world wants a fight.

Said it when the US was talking about nukes to Ukraine, the problem with being the tough guy is, you have to be tough 100% of the time. Russia calls a bluff and we are in a nuclear war..... over Ukraine..... one of the most corrupt countries in the world.

It was when you said we should have finished off Russia in WWII, and then you attacked the UN.
I do believe if we would have dealt with Russia in the forties while we were already there the world would be a better place today.
And the UN just is powerless to do anything that the members of the security council don’t want it to do. So it’s pretty toothless.
The UN is powerless for more reasons than that. Even if the permanent members didn't have veto power and the smaller banana republics were allowed to run wild, they happen to also be the only ones willing and able to contribute meaningful, non-token military resources to enforce anything.
As for the WWII - Russia reference, I am SO over the movie Patton.
