The future was on the court at the end of the game...

...and I for one appreciated it.

Aaron Ulis, Tony Perkins, Patrick McCaffery, and Keegan Murray were on the court at the end of the game with Luka Garza in a passing of the torch moment. Those four, with JT, Ogundele, Kris Murray, Nunge and CJF coming back, with Connor as the court coach - there's a lot to like there. And, as fans, we should be excited.

No negativity, no harping on the coaching, none of the bullshi* that so many of the negative posters on this board go in for.

The future is bright, and the cupboard isn't bare. My opinion? Sure. But, objectively, I'm super excited about next year, wins and losses notwithstanding, I'll be here, watching the guys duke it out, and enjoying watching them continue to develop and grow.

I'm not here to tell any of you anything, but for me, I'm really looking forward to next year and watching the next era of Iowa basketball begin, and hopefully competing and flourishing.

All the best y'all, and go Hawkeyes!

Black and Gold forever (and Green and Gold in my heart always)

This young nucleus will be in the Sweet 16 at one point in their career. I’m calling it now.
I agree. Keegan has already shown he is special. PMac and Perkins have shown glimpses of what could be. I also suspect Kris and Ullis will be better than expected next year.

A LOT can change with a year under the belt when adjusting to a new level of competition. I think PMac already looks a lot better from the start of the year to now.

The outcome of this young nucleus will play out as such.

Why would you say this? The old 'it never doesn't not go in' attitude of Iowa hoops? Why continue to encourage these old paradigms?

Hope springs eternal, doesn't it?

Sure, Shawshank Redemption, Red chiding Andy for his continual 'hope.' Why live in those sentiments? As fans, hope is the only thing we have, isn't it? And staying in the present, enjoying and watching our team doing their thing, watching them learn and grow and compete, isn't that what being a fan is?

Support. It's what the players need, and it's what the fans can give. It's all I, as a fan, ask other fans to do. And I can't ask anything of any of you. Just what I'd hope for everyone.

I think that group needs a big time transfer to be top 25ish. I like them but they will be young.
They will do it. Unlike past teams, the future has athletes a at ever position. Joe T is one of the fastest players in the country, has developed into a good passer, and is a very good defender. We already know what a healthy CJF brings. Tony Perkins is already a great defender, and will be an elite lockdown perimeter defender by the end of his career. He also is an insanely good athlete. Ulis is a silky smooth PG, that has very good b-ball IQ he just needs to polish up his game. The future Guards will likely be Dasonte Bowen and one of either Jaden Schutt or Eli King. That is an extremely versatile PG with Bowen, the best shooter I’ve ever seen at a high school level in Schutt, and an extremely uptempo, athletic guard with Eli King. If that’s the future, count me in!

You’re going to be wrong. This team is pissed off going into this off-season. If you think they aren’t going to let this loss boil, you’re wrong. They’re going to be hungry next year.

Pretty much the reason why today doesn't sting as much. Come in knowing exactly what to expect from Iowa's top two.

Why are you counting on players that aren't and may never be at Iowa?

Optimism vs. Realism.

I'm a realist. It will not happen. Luka was a goddamn SuperStar surrounded by sharpshooters with a million games of experience. Round of 32 loss.

Fran can not get us there.

The future may have been on the court at the end, but 45% of the offense in this game left the court and won’t be coming back and the deer in the headlights coaching staff will be there as well. If we schedule as we typically do in a regular year, we should good for 17 wins.

JBO and Connor were %45 of the opponents offense and zero percent of Iowas.
