The future was on the court at the end of the game...

Not all that relevant to basketball but OK.

Id be happy with a 6'9 ish guy who could switch on screens and defend the rim.
The point he was trying to make is that Oregon has athletes, we don't, other than a few guys off the bench, but our starting lineup is literally void of any athletes. Simply to slow, and unathletic to compete with teams like Oregon. It was evident from the tip how overmatched we were, and it was downhill from there.

That's terrific.

What the fvck does that have to do with whether or not Iowa needs a true big?

His response made no sense and you're explanation of his response makes no sense either.

Its not that I disagree, its that it has nothing at all to do with what sort of big Iowa should recruit.

And shooting this year was a major strength.

How'd that work out?

Not well.

Shooters don't do much good if they can never get open.

The most disappointing part of this season is Fran had two capable point guards and a capable slasher on his bench and choose to be one dimensional all year.

He has no one to blame but himself. He couldn't make the hard decisions.

Sad.

...and I for one appreciated it.

Aaron Ulis, Tony Perkins, Patrick McCaffery, and Keegan Murray were on the court at the end of the game with Luka Garza in a passing of the torch moment. Those four, with JT, Ogundele, Kris Murray, Nunge and CJF coming back, with Connor as the court coach - there's a lot to like there. And, as fans, we should be excited.

No negativity, no harping on the coaching, none of the bullshi* that so many of the negative posters on this board go in for.

The future is bright, and the cupboard isn't bare. My opinion? Sure. But, objectively, I'm super excited about next year, wins and losses notwithstanding, I'll be here, watching the guys duke it out, and enjoying watching them continue to develop and grow.

I'm not here to tell any of you anything, but for me, I'm really looking forward to next year and watching the next era of Iowa basketball begin, and hopefully competing and flourishing.

All the best y'all, and go Hawkeyes!

Thanks for the edict, Adolph.

I believe that JT will be a pleasant surprise to many of the Negative Nelly's that populate this place after a defeat. I believe that once he understands the "job is his" he will grow exponentially. I believe he is a real talent....raw and a bit rough but really talented.
I agree, I thought he was growing his freshmen year and was excited about his development.
Then Jbo came back and fu*ked everything up.
JT was pressing this year and played like he was going to get pulled any minute if he made a mistake.
Fran finally has the backcourt he had at Siena, quick and athletic guards that can defend!

Nice hearing from you, Jay. It's been awhile.

Other then Keegan and Patrick, we only saw a glimpse of Tony, Ahron, Kris, and Josh.
To say Iowa won't have any shooters next year is only speculation.

I've looked at a lot of high school YouTube video's of Toussaint and yes he obtained a lot of his points at the rim but he showed he can hit a shot out to the 3 point line too, his ball handling will get better and I think he's going to be the drive train that run's the offense.

Fredrick and Nunge provide leadership and hopefully both will be fully recovered before the start of next season.

Payton is interesting, he's taller and thicker then Weezy and has the same shooting ability. Weezy was pretty good as a freshmen and maybe Payton will have the same success, time will tell, and if Weezy makes the decision to come back for his senior year that adds another veteran shooter and leader.

I'm extremely excited to see actual athletes on the floor in all positions and coming off the bench. A totally different look, if Fran does get someone from the portal make it a rim protector, that is quick like a deer. Loved Garza but he was neither a rim protector or quick. That's the way college basketball is transitioning to.

The way the Big Ten plays, is becoming obsolete, it's the teams that have fast, quick, and long athlete's at every position that is taking over the game. I believe Fran is transitioning in that direction. We'll see.
