And shooting this year was a major strength.Next years roster will be the most athletic Iowa team since the 80s.
Should be an excellent defensive and transition team.
Shooting could be the major weakness.
How'd that work out?

We already have a good shot blocker in Nunge. We need a banger on the inside, someone that will fight on the inside.
The point he was trying to make is that Oregon has athletes, we don't, other than a few guys off the bench, but our starting lineup is literally void of any athletes. Simply to slow, and unathletic to compete with teams like Oregon. It was evident from the tip how overmatched we were, and it was downhill from there. Not all that relevant to basketball but OK.
Id be happy with a 6'9 ish guy who could switch on screens and defend the rim.
And Keegan. And PMac. And probably Kris, too, based on his DNA. They all need to get stronger to handle the banging in the B1G. Hopefully the off-season and training tables help with this.We already have a good shot blocker in Nunge. We need a banger on the inside, someone that will fight on the inside.
Lots of length on next years team. Should make for a better defensive unit. And Keegan. And PMac. And probably Kris, too, based on his DNA.

Sad.Not well.
Shooters don't do much good if they can never get open.
The most disappointing part of this season is Fran had two capable point guards and a capable slasher on his bench and choose to be one dimensional all year.
He has no one to blame but himself. He couldn't make the hard decisions.
JBO and Connor were %45 of the opponents offense and zero percent of Iowas.
...and I for one appreciated it.
Aaron Ulis, Tony Perkins, Patrick McCaffery, and Keegan Murray were on the court at the end of the game with Luka Garza in a passing of the torch moment. Those four, with JT, Ogundele, Kris Murray, Nunge and CJF coming back, with Connor as the court coach - there's a lot to like there. And, as fans, we should be excited.
No negativity, no harping on the coaching, none of the bullshi* that so many of the negative posters on this board go in for.
The future is bright, and the cupboard isn't bare. My opinion? Sure. But, objectively, I'm super excited about next year, wins and losses notwithstanding, I'll be here, watching the guys duke it out, and enjoying watching them continue to develop and grow.
I'm not here to tell any of you anything, but for me, I'm really looking forward to next year and watching the next era of Iowa basketball begin, and hopefully competing and flourishing.
All the best y'all, and go Hawkeyes!

I agree, I thought he was growing his freshmen year and was excited about his development.I believe that JT will be a pleasant surprise to many of the Negative Nelly's that populate this place after a defeat. I believe that once he understands the "job is his" he will grow exponentially. I believe he is a real talent....raw and a bit rough but really talented.
Lol dam that’s funny. I sadly agree. I will get killed for this im sure, but I think our ceiling was higher this year without jbo on the team, or at least a pretty diminished role 🤷♂️Then Jbo came back and fu*ked everything up.
Love this...the future is bright for the Hawks and I can't wait for next year!...and I for one appreciated it.
