Why didn’t Trump and Rs do it when they had total control during his first two years? Could have do it however they pleased and didn’t get it done.
Compare the border crossings now to that time period. It was so bad in December the administration won’t even release the number.

Again, the border has been an issue for 30+ years. Trump had total control and ability to change this and didn’t. Doesn’t matter that it’s worse now. It was an issue so much so that he ran on making Mexico pay for a wall and yet he didn’t take action on the issue. Can gets kicked down the road again.

Trump built or reinforced 458 miles of border fencing. He negotiated the Remain in Mexico policy. In that same negotiation he demanded and received thousands of Mexican soldiers at or near border.

Yeah, cuz stay in Mexico keeps them out. Trump built very little new wall. Simply replaced old wall and fenced areas with different walls. And, a lot was rushed or portly done and has fallen over in places. Again, a wall isn’t stopping anyone. The border is thousands of miles long. All token efforts to make people like you think something was done. Hundreds of millions spent for very little to show for it.

Prove it. I lived along the border. I’ve seen this shit first hand. Pre-911 I could walk across to Mexico to drink a beer and come back without so much as showing my license. Try to tell me what I don’t know.
For the record, I think the National Guard should be used along the borders. I think asylum seekers should apply in whatever country they reside in. I think those that show up at the border should wait on that side of the fence u less they can demonstrate imminent danger. I think more resources should be deployed along borders to secure it. I think employers in the US should be penalized harshly (to include jail time in circumstances) when found using illegal workers. I think a system should be designed to allow those here path to citizenship. I think those overstaying visas should be tracked and removed promptly. Those people are here for work or education and eventually need to work so track them and deport them.
There is more, but my point is this has been an issue for decades. Reagan did nothing in two terms. Bush did nothing, Clinton did nothing in two terms… same with Jr and then Obama. Now, Trump and Biden have both done nothing in a term. Let’s not act like this is new. Neither have done what needs to be done.

Biden and Mayorkas until recently were adamant the border was secure. But OOPS, now his Democratic big city mayors are complaining about all the arriving brown people.

For the final time... this isn't a new issue. Neither party has resolved the issues when they had a chance. But, I don't want to hear shit from Rs now when 4 years ago they had 100% control, Trump campaigned on the border and did nothing more than window dressing... and most of it was done in the final 6-months to rush to appear like he did more about it. End of the day nothing was resolved and we are still sitting with a crappy situation. If both sides have some sort of an agreement in place now I'd like to know why they don't try to do something. Who cares if Trump doesn't like it? I think we can all agree something needs to be done.
Trump only built 52 new miles of primary border wall, the rest was mostly repair or reinforcement of existing barriers. Not really a big dent in the 1,950 miles of the southern border.
And a wall (security measures) are only a small part of what needs to be addressed.

Well then what reason is it that you are so scared of finding a solution where they can come in legally? That was the question... northern asked why when someone said they wanted to find a solution to make them citizens legally. He seems to be against that... Why? The only thing I can come up with is because they are brown. Otherwise as it is well known we are starting to need more people here why doesn't he want people coming from the southern border if it isn't because they are brown?
