You don't look much like Liz!

Liz Cheney got beat because she refused to join the cult of personality.

Hans, the only reason I don’t ignore you is because I don’t believe you are completely lost. Just think for a moment about what you just wrote. The Republican Party has become what we used to accuse liberals of—savagely weeding out any semblance of diversity of thought. MAGA is liberalism on steroids.

Both parties because of the duopoly they held engaged in a lot of weeding out of diversity of thought. Especially as politics became more and more nationalized. The difference now is that it's not even thought anymore it's sheer blind loyalty to a singular person. Not set of ideas or a platform. It's to a man. The Republican party of old opposed tariffs in their entirety. Trump came in and he likes tariffs. So now the Republicans are now backing across the board tariffs on everything.

Lefties still running with this hoax? Yall are somehow more desperate than I thought 😂

The coverage of this event is perhaps the single most dishonest act by the mainstream media is U.S. history.

It's stunning that with trust of the media already being at all time lows, that they decided to go down this road. But then I'm reminded that they want Kamala to win this election.

I think this election will be the first one where the vote was influenced more by digital media (podcasts, x, etc) compared to the MSM. Dying elephants breathing their last breaths of relevancy while management squeezes every nickel of value out that they can before they're entirely irrelevant.

The Republican Party was born on two issues, the tariff and slavery.
Eisenhower was the break with that tradition, seeking reciprocal trade agreements.
Reagan was a further break, understanding that free trade is economically superior to any government disruption of trade.
But beyond economics there must be a recognition that the Chicom authorities don’t seek free trade, but to strategically empower their economy relative to others.
If you could reasonably assume the Chicoms won’t disrupt trade when they decide to, and thereby deprive our economy of essentials, eliminating all tariffs would generate the highest economic growth.
But there is one more element to this discussion. We don’t operate international trade on a gold standard. So the normal market mechanism to correct a natural trade imbalance doesn’t exist. Our politicians can inflate the supply of our currency and thereby distort prices that would otherwise rebalance trade.

If you don't see that he was basically saying what every 60's era Vietnam protesters were saying, you do have to take the blinders off.

War Pigs by Black Sabbath said it better, but that's all he was saying. You give him to much credit to think he was inferring anything else. He's far to stupid to know what infer means.

Politicians hide themselves away
they only started the war
Why should they go out to fight?

They leave that role to the poor

The problem with these types of comments is there are crazy MAGA, as we've seen, that will take action based on these comments.
Are you stupid or just blind? Some of your liberal tv personalities even said they took it out on context. Go see what Bill Maher had to say about it. In fact, go watch the whole 1:37 clip vs the 3 seconds. That’s the problem with libtards, they believe everything the see and hear without researching themselves.

Wasn’t Trump just saying it’s easy to be a war hawk until you are the one facing the guns?
It’s just this week’s version of “blood bath” or inject bleach to cure Covid. When your policy sucks, personality sucks, and your stance is kill the babies and trans the kids this is what you’re left with.

Clearly trump is insane and very dangerous. Time to be rid of him for good.

Trumpy Bear has said some really, REALLY stupid sh!t over the years. Like an amount that mathematicians are still trying to calculate with the help of the world's biggest super-computers.

That having been acknowledged, if you listen to the full clip, it's quite clear that he was saying Liz is one of those "war hawk" pols who casually sends OTHER PEOPLE off to die in battle and doesn't bat an eye at it, and that if she was the one who had to carry a rifle in a FOB during a hostile action, she might not be so flippant about such things.

Of course, you can argue whether Liz Cheney actually is one of those types of pols and it's plainly obvious why he chose to single her out. But nevertheless, that and not the firing squad, is what he was saying, or at least trying to say in his usual ham-handed fashion.

There are too many other dumb statements to criticize him for to let an out-of-context one like this blow up to the degree that it has. All it does is add fuel to the "lying leftist media" and "everyone's out to get (him)" fires he so deftly stokes.

Well said. This is just another "blood bath" fake news/out of context/mis/dis information.

I think it was at least partly due to him specifying the number of rifles that would be aimed at her.

And sorry, but while I’ll agree…to an extent, that he wasn’t calling for her to be shot at explicitly; he has said stuff like this for 8 years. And frankly, after being shot at in the not too distant past, you’d think even he would watch his words a bit better. However, he continues to speak…aggressively might be the most polite way to put it. After Trump was shot at, republicans claimed democrats were at least partly responsible thanks to their rhetoric calling Trump a threat to the country. This isn’t worse than that?

For me, it was Biden saying to put Trump 'in a crosshair" that's pretty direct.

Ol' Doodle wasn't defending his body of work. It speaks for itself. He says whatever the hell comes to mind....or frankly, most of the time it seems the words bypass his mind and come straight out of his mouth into the world.

But you can't just decide to hear something different than what is actually being said because it's what you want to hear / expect to hear / have heard in some form or fashion in the past...and then claim a free pass for taking things out of context and running with it merely because he's said those other terrible horrible no good very bad things. This time he didn't say what the outcry claimed he did. It's okay to acknowledge it without equivocation and move on to more important matters...you know...like the many ACTUAL dumb things he's said. It doesn't have to be a zero sum game.

Despite absolute insistence to the contrary by the hardcore members of Team Red and Team Blue....the middle isn't lava.

This is a false equivalency. That was the exception for Biden to say something like that. For Trump, this is normal.
Not really, that was the most direct example, but there's been years of rhetoric. And it could MAYBE be a false equivalency IF Trump wasn't nearly assassinated like 3 days later.

It falls WELL short of what has been uttered by Trump. Not really sure how what Biden said impacted the action of a registered republican.
