Liz Cheney got beat because she refused to join the cult of personality.

Hans, the only reason I don’t ignore you is because I don’t believe you are completely lost. Just think for a moment about what you just wrote. The Republican Party has become what we used to accuse liberals of—savagely weeding out any semblance of diversity of thought. MAGA is liberalism on steroids.

Both parties because of the duopoly they held engaged in a lot of weeding out of diversity of thought. Especially as politics became more and more nationalized. The difference now is that it's not even thought anymore it's sheer blind loyalty to a singular person. Not set of ideas or a platform. It's to a man. The Republican party of old opposed tariffs in their entirety. Trump came in and he likes tariffs. So now the Republicans are now backing across the board tariffs on everything.

Lefties still running with this hoax? Yall are somehow more desperate than I thought 😂

The coverage of this event is perhaps the single most dishonest act by the mainstream media is U.S. history.

It's stunning that with trust of the media already being at all time lows, that they decided to go down this road. But then I'm reminded that they want Kamala to win this election.

I think this election will be the first one where the vote was influenced more by digital media (podcasts, x, etc) compared to the MSM. Dying elephants breathing their last breaths of relevancy while management squeezes every nickel of value out that they can before they're entirely irrelevant.

The Republican Party was born on two issues, the tariff and slavery.
Eisenhower was the break with that tradition, seeking reciprocal trade agreements.
Reagan was a further break, understanding that free trade is economically superior to any government disruption of trade.
But beyond economics there must be a recognition that the Chicom authorities don’t seek free trade, but to strategically empower their economy relative to others.
If you could reasonably assume the Chicoms won’t disrupt trade when they decide to, and thereby deprive our economy of essentials, eliminating all tariffs would generate the highest economic growth.
But there is one more element to this discussion. We don’t operate international trade on a gold standard. So the normal market mechanism to correct a natural trade imbalance doesn’t exist. Our politicians can inflate the supply of our currency and thereby distort prices that would otherwise rebalance trade.
