A Reddit poll as published by Bleacher Report; and for IA, I think you can all guess the most hated football team.

Give it a few more recruiting cycles and I think Michigan ends up on a few more of those states.

Does the entire northeast hate Ohio State? THAT, I love!

Maybe. But ask yourself why OSU and Alabama are the 2 most hated teams NATIONALLY. Think it has anything to do with their success and employing the two top college coaches ? In some cases - and I believe this is one - hate could be representing respect/jealousy.

I dont know where they got these results but I live in the Chicago area and no one gives a rats ass about OSU. The most hated team here is the crying Illini. By a long shot! No i'm not kidding.

Many of these most hated is a rivalry team. In Iowa's case, there are more Hawkeye fans than there are ISU fans, so ISU gets the most hated. CO vs Neebrask-agh is similar situation...Colorado doesn't have another major team that is close by, so Nebbie Debbie becomes the defacto. Minnesota vs WI is probably a cold vs cold battle for Meenea-sotta, but Wiscon-sins is a jealousy factor the OSU.

I don't understand the Kentucky thing. Who in Kentucky would hate Kentucky football?

It's not like ISU with their arrogance when they have literally won nothing for 100+ years.

U Kentucky people don't really care that much about football. I think it has to be a carry over from their basketball team

In regards to the State of Iowa, didn't realize that juco schools were under consideration.

What's really difficult to understand is how ISU could be the most hated team in the state, despite the fact that Hawkeye fans don't even THINK about ISU except maybe on the day they are forced to play the Cyclones.

Who be doin' all the hatin'?

No one claimed or stated how much the margin might have been. Many ISU grads/fans can't read or write... so maybe they were actually voting for themselves as "The most hated" poll was going on.:p

We know how much ISU fans love to win any meaningless internet poll.

I've lived here my whole life, and that's just simply bullsh^t.

Maybe from where your from but here on the north shore its ND, scUM, Whisky, Iowa, Purdue, IU, and even sometimes tOSU. It ain't bullshit. It's a fact here and everywhere else around town as far as I can tell. The crying Illini are a state embarrassment and a running joke. Keep wishing that wasn't true but saying it doesn't make it a reality. Just keeping it real. Like I said before your a sensitive bunch so this is par for the coarse.

This was my exact thought. Didn't Hayden Fry have a quote about how he'd rather beat Michigan or Ohio State? I miss the days when we "nothing-ed" ISU.

The Tribune literally does a poll each year, and U of I always wins. Illinois has over 220,000 alumni in the area, and the next closest is barely over 100,000. The fans haven't had much to cheer about, and they certainly feel less of a need to wear their college gear 24/7 (nothing is lamer than being at Wrigley with fellow Illini fans who are, ya know, wearing CUBS SHIRTS and to look around and see people wearing Iowa and MSU gear ... LOL, we get it; that doesn't mean you outnumber us). Just being in Chicago during years like 2005 basketball or the Rose Bowl season during 2007 shows a reaction that other programs don't get when they're winning. This was last night after the Lovie hire; this wouldn't happen for Iowa or MSU or even ND in a million years in Chicago:
