The Most Popular Beer in Every State

Sorry,.. I don't believe that Butt-Wiper is the favorite beer of Iowa.

Apparently the country is Budweiser heavy.

I don't believe for a second bud heavy is the number 1 sold beer in Iowa. Anecdotally, for domestic macro brews, I see WAY more Busch Light, Bud Light, Miller Light, and Coors Light being consumed. Hell, I see more Mich Ultra than Bud heavy.

Nah, there's zero chance that Lone Star is the most popular beer in Texas - either in sales or in reputation. It's a novelty, but it's not very good - it's like Busch Light: serviceable when served extremely cold, but otherwise not good..

The idea that the most popular beer in montana is not Great Northern Huckleberry Lager is just patently offensive.

BTW, I ordered a couple of pounds of frozen hucks. Thus far i have used them to make huckleberry instilled vodka, a huckleberry freshie (vodka, huck juice and seltzer), and, most importantly, an unbelievable huckleberry gelato (eaten both with and without chocolate chips). I have also eaten more than my share of them, both on a standalone basis and in salad. I may try a little huck juice in bourbon tonight (substituting for chambord). Separately, Ive had huck jam and huck syrup on my belgian waffles in the last week.

Eating hucks in Montana is like eating lobster when visiting maine. You should do it every goddamn meal.

That list is shit. Iowa is (sadly) by far Busch Light. Hell, I bet the Busch Light Apple is sold more than Bud diesel.

Also, there's this:

"Toppling Goliath, from Decorah, Iowa-based Toppling Goliath Brewing Co., scored the number two spot."

The fact they think the beer name is "Toppling Goliath" show they put little research into this at all. And it sure as hell isn't the #2 selling beer in the state.

There’s no way Bud-heavy tops that many states.

And there’s absolutely no way Busch Light doesn’t win in Iowa.

List is trash.

I always liked to get Bud heavy if they didn't have PBR and I was trying to get drunk on beer only because I didn't want to hit the sauce too hard. Always thought Keystone and Busch were great for hydrating between shots of chilled liquor and for having something to do with your non-pointing-and-talking hand.

Georgia representin' with Athens' own Terrapin.

Lots of Dawgs in that state, and this shows their loyalty.

Also, Terrapin is damn good beer.

While Yuengling may be the most famous beer made in Pennsylvania, it didn't even number among the top five most popular beers in the state. Instead, it was Bud Light that earned Pennsylvania's top spot.

nonsense...

I have a regional HR Manager who works for me who's from Pennsylvania. Yuengling is her beer of choice.

Yuengling also has a brewery in Tampa...bought it from Stroh's if memory serves correctly...company I used to work for 20+ years ago handled their Workers Comp insurance...that was always a fun client visit...

Went to school with Dave Yuengling, whose fraternity had really no limits on their beer supply. Eventually, I think he got out of the beer part of the family business and now sells Yuengling ice cream.

List is trash.

Bud Light is the #1 selling beer in the country.

Iowa - Busch Light
South Dakota - Busch Light possibly Bud Light
Minnesota - Michelob Golden Light
Wisconsin - Miller Lite, and I've seen a fair amount of PBR drank in Wisco too.
Illinois - ??? probably Bud Light
Nebraska - Busch Light

That wasn't a list of beers, it was a list of breweries (with "Budweiser"apparently meaning AB-InBev). OP isn't even right about this.

Dude that was the first thing I thought when I saw Texas in that article. It is a mediocre beer at best that does the job in a pinch, but I would rather have a Miller Lite over it.

Yeah, Lone Star is a bit like Pearl in that you have one once in a while but it's not your go to beer by any means. I would guess Shiner outsells Lone Star by quite a bit. I know I've never actually purchased Lone Star anywhere but in a bar after I've had 3 or 4 Shiners.

The only time I could see intentionally ordering Lone Star would be like in Gruene Hall for the nostalgia of it. But you're right - Shiner would be peoples' choice at least 99 out of 100 times.

Coincidentally there's a similar thing up here where Orioles fans will enthusiastically drink "Natty Boh's" at Orioles games, but I don't think they drink it anywhere else.

Kind of like drinking an Old Style at Wrigley.

I personally like Old Style and used to have it in my fridge all the time but it's getting harder to find where I live. Used to know a place years ago where I'd pick up a 12 pack on the way home on Fridays.
