If Jok isnt feeling it he becomes a huge liability on D and in transition against a team that can score in droves. His misses create quick transition offense for Indiana and Jok is terrible in transition D. Indiana was hot tonight on offense and our O couldnt keep pace. Would have liked to see Jok sit more in favor of slowing Indiana down. Iowa let Indiana play Indiana's style of basketball and when they can do that they outscore most of the teams in the country.

That said I don't place a ton of blame on Fran you could tell he was trying to get his players to not play into Indiana's style of play and give them an open floor game but the combo of Jok and the young freshmen just kept playing into Indiana's hands.

Jok's game yesterday was pretty bad. Did anyone notice that he did not shoot a FT and thus could not retake the FT% record from Stevie Alfraud. Good offensive players find a way to get to the FT line even when they are not shooting well from the field. Jok is arguably one of the top three shooters if not the top in the last 40 years of Iowa basketball, but the huge holes in his game (namely defense and ball handling) make him far from a great player. Frankly, it is no surprise the NBA told him to come back to the college game last spring and I bet they would tell him the same thing again because you didn't fix your weaknesses

Yeah he just struggles with contact. The second anyone is up in his grill and Jok doesn't get the call he quits. His effort yesterday was set in the first 3 minutes of the game. He jogged back on a lay-up.

Then he preceded to miss 2-3 open looks early on. You could just see his body language wasn't there and when his offense is not working, he quits on defense. I would be shocked if he gets drafted after his play down the stretch. He is a pure shooter, but there is more to the game than just shooting.

Jok is a shooter. The dribble drive game he has is prone to turnovers because his handles aren't great and he isn't quick. Same with his defense--he is slower than the guys he defends. We were steam rolled by a team that is better at uptempo running game. Indiana also was hot from 3pt line and has enough bigs to match ours when refs don't call fouls. I definitely don't blame Jok for the loss, but at same time, I don't think his skill set will be missed next year because he ended the 2nd half of B1G season in shooting slump with a couple outlier games where he shot well.

While the Jok life story is heart warming, I just can't see him having an NBA career. Hopefully he makes some $$$ in Europe and lives a successful life. No one will ever root against the kid.

Jok is an elite jump shooter. The rest of his game is nowhere near elite. I will be surprised if he gets to play in the NBA.

Will be interesting to follow Jok's post-Iowa progression. To play in the NBA, one needs to either be a freak athlete or be elite in at least one aspect of the game- rebounding, 3-point shooting, etc. Jok certainly has a quick release, but I'm not sure if that is enough to carry the mail. In the end, an exceptional Hawkeye.

I was thinking the same thing last night. Not to sure he fixed the things they told him to work on. I guess will find out in a couple of months. He better get healed up, because he's really going to have to impress during the workouts, or its off to Europe.
