Wendy I think you are right that this happened a few years ago at the NCAA's but I cannot remember who the hell it was.
P.S. The throw of Brands was awesome so FTB can go blow it out his ass. As for having to ask the coach prior or it is disrespectful I don't agree with and I doubt any coach would agree with that either. They busted their ass all year to win the pinnacle of the sport, I have to believe that both the wrestler and coach are on such a high that it is pure elation!!!!

You don't later drop your Head(Assistant) coach if he isn't ready for it. Period! The way it happened was perfect and how Terry jumped right back up after it bouncing all over made it even better. That experience almost made up for having to watch both IMar and Dean lose.......

No doubt Terry would have loved it if Cory had thrown him without asking, but just for the record, Terry did tell Cory to throw him (not that it really matters).
I realize it was Terry in the corner for Clark's match, but it was actually Tom that got tossed. He does all of Terry's stunts.
And there are people ticked off about that part too.
If this is such a great thing why did CC not want to do it? Its absolutely absurd that this is being talked about more than Cory's amazing tournament. Its a shame and disrespectful to Cory. He deserves much better. I couldn't imagine if one of Penn St's 5 champs would of done this instead. You people have been throwing little baby fits because PSU talks about how much fun they have. What Terry did was wrong!
I have never ignored someone on HR because even idiots have something good to say every now and then and can contribute to a conversation. You on the other hand serve no purpose than to try and be dad and tell everyone else they are wrong no matter what. I truly believe you are here as another teams fan just to piss people off. With that said if you actually think Terry was disrespectful you are a complete moron. You can never make everyone happy. Especially grumpy miserable people who feel bad about themselves. There was a song about that I believe. (Garden Party) The more we are happy about these things the grumpier they will get lol.

Yes, we do have some opinionated individuals over there that feel the way they do about the Brands. But as one of your posters recently said, this should be about Cory Clark. And I'm pretty sure ALL OF US over at BWI were happy that Cory won and got what he worked so hard for! I didn't see anyone at BWI say anything negatively about him as most of us were cheering for him that night. He battled back and is "the man", and he represented you guys with character, guts, respect and true sportsmanship. I'll miss pulling for him (unless it was against PSU).
I agree with this. I'm still not backing away from saying Terry was wrong. Cory deserves to be the center of attention, not a coach orchestrated toss.

You presume that Cory WANTS to be the center of attention. Quiet , insightful young man that just wants to wrestle himself to see what it feels like. If Cory wishes to take umbrage with what was done I am sure he is quite capable of doing so and has plenty of interviews where he could have , or still can do just that.
I would imagine that the 5 or so years that they have spent together as coach/ mentor/ competitive spirits have formed a bond that goes far beyond anything I can fathom short of family.
Time will tell. Cory just needs to up his game after an Olympic Gold and after he chucks him, throw in the half and grind his face in the mat for a few seconds. Terry would come up laughing and probably be thankful that Clark didn't grab an arm!
I have watched it many times and I have to say, that was a nice throw! Kid looks like he is pretty good.
He should have gave Terry a patented Gilman face mush to top it all off lol
And here, growing up in Sheldon, I thought bear-hug, body-slams were gestures shared regularly amongst friends, family, colleagues and maybe even random strangers during Soybean Days. I don't get the big deal about it actually happening on a mat after the biggest win of CC's career, so far…...

Secondly, Ben was waiting in line to be thrown as well, but I think there may have been some amplitude concerns on behalf of the thrower? I don't like seeing people left out like that.
Really tho, and being there, it was funny to watch and I think the folks critiquing the spontaneity of it could find better things to do.
