While little Littlez starts calling names, I thought it would be interesting to
point out that there seems to be some ADDITION by substraction, of a couple of 'star' players from last year?

Yeah I bet this team would be a lot worse with borderline NBA player Tyler Cook on it lol... especially since we are stocked full of quality 4’s

I think it is probable, yes probable, that Iowa is a better TEAM without Cook. Went 2-0 in conf play last year without him so it isn’t out of the question.
Yeah, he is a hell of an athlete, but on a team constructed as Iowa is, he was trying to be the man, and his game is best for when he’s a 3rd to 4th best player on the team.
We’ll agree to disagree on this one. I get that he had tendencies to dominate the ball, but defenses having to account for a player like him would be huge for this team. Defensively, probably a wash other than rebounding, which he could’ve helped with
2-0 vs 10th place PSU and 14th place Northwestern. Not exactly the muscle of the B1G last season.
I’ll also agree to disagree. Especially with all of the injuries Iowa has had this season. Imagine this lineup and tell me Iowa is better off.

That would be a 10-15 ranked team if not slightly better IMO. Fredrick has been a huge addition and seems to be clutch. Wieskamp and Garza have both improved. C McCaffery does a lot of things well, but nothing great or nothing terrible. Last year, teams game planned on stopping Cook. They doubled him like crazy almost every chance they got. Cooks biggest problem wasn’t seeing the double quick enough to pass out or make a move to the hoop. I still don’t think it’s even close that Iowa would be better with him on the roster.
Guys it’s a new year, new team, new mentality, maybe a different approach pertaining to the coaching staff. We literally have no idea how Cook would gel with the team this year.
IMO, the more capable players the better. It would be up to the coaches to get them all to play well. I think Fran has done a decent job of that, but as we all know players are people and people have flaws.

Not because Cook is gone... because our backcourt is substantially better than last year, and we have our 5 playing like an All-American. Guys like Baer, Cook, and even Moss would still be important contributors on this team
No need to argue with him on Cook. Kurt Warner was also the guy who said Cook will never play in the NBA & will never be on a team...then Cook sees the floor 4 games into the 2019-2020 season. The Cook haters are like the religious, they just put a wall of denial up.
