Colds dont usually kill people if left untreated. Colds are caused by viruses while TB is caused by a bacteria but left untreated it can kill, people cough up blood and it was one of the leading killer illnesses in the US and parts of the world.

Luckily antibiotics can get you well, unluckily Trump has mussled the CDC and NIH from getting the word out to people and healthcare people.

Pretty soon, antibiotics will be outlawed.

In this particular circumstance, considering that active new TB infections are waning, there appears to be no risk to a pause in communications while the organization is restructured. This could be subject to change if circumstances change.
