The Minnesota Lynx are retiring Maya Moore's jersey tonight when they host the Indiana Fever. It has been well documented that Caitlin Clark grew up a fan of the Lynx and idolized Maya Moore. I'm sure most of us have heard the story about the time Clark was 12 years old and her father drove her to a Lynx game and after the game Clark got to meet Moore and gave her a hug. Clark has often cited that moment as a significant point in her love for the game.

The Lynx typically average about 8200 fans for home games not involving the Fever. By retiring Moore's jersey tonight they are ensuring that she will receive the honor in front of a packed house instead of a half-full arena. The game will be televised on NBA TV and I believe they are also making it available as a free League Pass preview if you have the WNBA app.
