Did Dr. Tom Davis make it back for the ceremony? I did not see any reference to him.

Just makes you wonder why in the hell this wasn’t done when they did the stupid framed jersey presentation before he died. One more thing on the long list of Barta’s screw ups.

That was shameful IMO. They couldn't at least have someone make a late 80's replica jersey - but instead basically gave him an Alford or Lickliter era jersey that apparently was just sitting around. It smacked of doing the minimum, and deciding to do it at the last moment, almost as an afterthought.

Glad to see Roy's jersey finally given the recognition it deserves. Just wish he could have been there to see it.

RIP #23.

it was definitely done half ass and another royal Barta f up

Wonderful for the Marbles and the Hawk fans. Watching Roy in person was a great treat. He played with a tremendous awareness of the court, and an unrivaled intensity, and desire to win. In my mind, he was the most underrated B1G player of his era, and perhaps, even now. I don’t believe he was ever selected as a member of the B1G’s first team. That was grossly unfair.

Don’t think it was Barta’s decision to make. I’d have to go back and look at the thread from around that time.

I don't know the status of Dev's professional career or his interests beyond, but it would be nice to see Fran get a former player on the staff in some capacity. Nice to see one of my all-time favorite Hawks back in CHA and able to move past the rift that developed over the past couple years. He was a smooth operator and did not shy away from the big moment--hit a lot of clutch shots including WOW! dunks.

That is on everybody involved with Iowa athletics.

Don't we have one right now??

Were Dr Tom or any of his teammates back for this and the beat down of MSU?

nicely said

the B1G was loaded in the mid to late 1980s, though, wouldn't you agree?

Yes, absolutely, Glenn Rice, Stephen Bardo, Kenny Battle, Steve Smith, just to name a few. I do remember, Dr. Tom complaining about Roy not getting the credit he deserved.
