People are homeless and Bernie is ‘hoarding’ houses according to his economic world view.Bernie has done OK. Right wingers like to bitch about his house situation. I guess they don't think he and his wife should have inherited a house from her parents.
“We can guarantee cash payments from here on out, what we cannot guarantee is the purchasing power of that cash."SS isn’t an investment opportunity, it’s an insurance policy. No American ever got a letter saying we don’t have the money. We should be proud of that.”
So are we supposed to trust the MSM, or not?
Just one of many things Greenspan got wrong. He also got some things right - like when he told Congress to bring down the deficit rather than cut taxes. But of course they cut taxes.“We can guarantee cash payments from here on out, what we cannot guarantee is the purchasing power of that cash."
-Alan Greenspan during remarks on Social Security, Feb 16, 2005
Just one of many things Greenspan got wrong
Easy enough to ensure purchasing power of SS with proper, legally-required cost-of-living adjustments. What do you think he got wrong in that statement?
He said the purchasing power of cash, not simply the purchasing power of SS payouts.Easy enough to ensure purchasing power of SS with proper, legally-required cost-of-living adjustments.
When do you think human life begins?
they are policies that exist and work elsewhere to the benefit of the majority of people.
That would be great but what’s going to stop companies from raising the price of everything they sell or the services they provide? The 40-hour workweek was established in 1940. The economy has changed a little bit since then.
That would be great but what’s going to stop companies from raising the price of everything they sell or the services they provide?
Since I cleared out my ignore list, I have a harder time knowing whether this sort of comment is from an idiot, or from a good guy mocking the idiots.Bernie is a Soviet loving communist.
If you watch the video of Bernie. He said that wouldn’t happen. I expect them to increase the cost, that’s why I’m asking who is going to make sure that doesn’t happen. Leading to my other question on the topic. When you force business to cut work hours by 20% while maintaining current salaries, you effect a 25% increase in the cost of labor,.. What else would you expect them to do?
If you watch the video of Bernie. He said that wouldn’t happen.
Bernie is running for reelection.
This is good for a number of reasons.
1. Obviously I like it because I like his positions on nearly all issues.
2. The Senate needs more progressives. Maybe he would have been replaced by an equally good progressive, but why risk it?
3. He's living proof that the "age issue" is phony. Yes, some older people lose competence and coherence, but it isn't axiomatic. Even if you don't like Bernie, you have to admit he's competent and coherent.
Because he owns 3 homes and millions of homeless own zero. He is hoarding. Even though he inherited a house - he could sell it and give the money to the US government to help create equality. Then he could bring himself from the top 1% to the average 50%.I just ordered his latest book. Yes, he's written a few. I'll let you know how he feels about capitalism when I'm actually reading it.
The title notwithstanding, it's quite possible to be angry about capitalism without wanting to completely eliminate it. In fact, if you are a thinking person, it's probably required to be angry about it.
Bernie has done OK. Right wingers like to bitch about his house situation. I guess they don't think he and his wife should have inherited a house from her parents. Otherwise what's wrong with a guy on Senate pay ($174K) having more than 1 house?
Yep…how many homes does Bernie own?Capitalism has been very good to Bernie Sanders.
So, you’re in favor of socialism?Bingo.
The first time he ran for POTUS I thought he was kind of a nut. But then we elected Donald Trump and discovered what a nut really is.
Ten people in the US are worth a combined $1 trillion. The combined wealth in this country is $111 trillion, But our government is $31 trillion in debt and we have millions and millions of people with very little income and no net worth.

It's good to see Bernie still fighting the good fight.
The only idiots are the people who see Bernie Sanders as anything other than a lifelong communist and professional useless person.Since I cleared out my ignore list, I have a harder time knowing whether this sort of comment is from an idiot, or from a good guy mocking the idiots.
Socialism is word that is used way too often IMO. The government helping those that need it is not socialism. So, you’re in favor of socialism?
Socialism doesn’t allow everyone to do well. That is why people die trying to escape it.I so wanted to see Bernie in a general election. He would have blown some MAGAs minds. He wants everyone to do well, not just the 1 percenters
