The Russian military is not going to let nukes happen. They have family and friends as well. Not all Russians are bad people. Just because Putin is a narcist like Trump, does not mean his staff is. I think WE have all been over analyzing this. Putin is a pussy. If he had any balls in the world he would not poison people, fake suicides, and subvert the public. It isn't surprising that the Russians are going into battle with old equipment, and food 7 years past it's expiration date. It's been mentioned several times in this thread. The Russian military has been hyped up, but it's riddled with corruption like the rest of Russia. The money to replace those rations was allocated, but somewhere along the way it went missing, and everyone from a low ranking supply officer, to the generals, to Putin himself got a cut of the graft.
When I see videos, and read articles that show the Russians have low morale I believe them.

If Putin is that unhinged, he may very well view what we have done to the Russian economy as a declaration of war.
I’m not sure what the right call is….but quivering in fear over his nukes is letting him win. We have them too, that’s the whole point of MAD.
The United States doesn’t negotiate with terrorists. And if we make every decision based on not making him mad will get us no where in the end. Russia has no right to be in Ukraine, any action like a no fly zone would be purely defensive. Whats the difference between this and Libya? I’d argue this would be more deserving of action….that was an internal conflict. This is not.

With Putin and the Ukraine invasion, it is almost like the Republicans stepped into a trap. You could see the trap from a mile away if you were paying attention. The Republicans were cheering on this vile tyrant as he attempts to destroy a peaceful country on his border, a democracy, and now they're going to own that decision.
In my opinion, this is going to be an important theme for the Democratic Party going into the 2022 and 2024 elections. The Tucker Carlsons, the Donald Trumps, the Mike Pompeos, they and other Republicans are going to have to own this issue because they are the reason that Russia launched this operation.
Putin could have done this at any time. The reason he acted now is not coincidental. Putin started building up his forces in the spring of 2021. This was weeks after the Jan. 6 insurrection. Putin, like Trump, smells vulnerability and exploits it. Vladimir Putin perceived that the United States was distracted and vulnerable. He's been testing our resolve. He's been getting positive signals in that regard.
There is blood on the Republican Party's hands. They were partially responsible for what is happening in Ukraine. Tucker Carlson and Donald Trump were basically as popular on Russian TV as they are here in this country. They're constantly being played there. What is the impression given? The United States is divided, and there's an opportunity there. So these folks now own it.
Again: If we don't pay attention to how we got here, it's going to be a much longer haul to clean it up properly.

I don't think it has that much to do with the GOP then it's bad actors sewing seeds of animosity via social media and other outlets. This really isn't a right vs. left thing, more how easily a lot of people are being manipulated into hating one another via the internet.

I don’t think it is. We can ask @TomKakert what kind of traffic this board gets relative to the other rivals sites, but I’m pretty sure HROT might be one of the busier boards on the network. I genuinely do think this would be a good target for bots and trolls. Where would you expect to find a Russian troll? The comments section on a news site or on a sports message board? We read about these Russian troll farms with hundreds of employees cranking out disinformation all over the world. Is it that unheard of that there are two or three that put in 20 minutes a day here among the many other sites they’re on?
