This really deserves its own thread...

Saw a Tik-Tok reel or whatever those things are called of a high school team doing this. Official told them you have a choice: shake their hands or this will be your first unsportsmanlike penalty of the game. I like that idea. It's not that hard to show a little sportsmanship before a game by shaking hands.

Always had respect for Rhule and didn’t think this was the culture he was going for.
Agree. Whoever made the decision to be absolute jerks at the coin flip deserves some serious heat. It’s possible that the NE captains made that decision on their own but you figure the coaching staff likely had input on that. Just a horrible look, and a black eye for NE. They deserve to be called out on that. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that kind of display even in the most heated of rivalries.

I’ve always found Rhule to be very likable, but this fiasco at the coin toss plus Rhule acting the fool and walking through our warm-up have changed my mind about him. Extremely dumb on his part, as I think the no-class thug culture has played a role in their poor performance in recent years. It seemed that he had changed the direction of the program in that respect but apparently not. Surprising and really quite idiotic on his part.

I owe Iowa fans, who had to explain their hatred of Nebraska to me, an apology.

I get it now.
Live in omaha..

The fanbase and media are like this all the time. It's a giant circle jerk of "reliving the 90s" year round... 24/7. They make everything a big deal.... like their stupid ass 6 win season in 10 years

They can't help themselves. They look down on every program. They make excuses for their losses. And when they lose....they pull the "well you never won anything" BS.

It's a trash program

Never, ever seen that before or even heard of it happening. This isnt war between competing tribes or countries. These are young men getting a paid for education to better themselves and they act like little babies.

Shame

We messed with their team prayer circle and midfield.
I honestly believe the cops were posted up because of Nebraska’s antics the last few years. They acted like clowns dancing in our warmup lines like or 4 years ago in Iowa City. And either last year or the year before they did some trailer trash antics at OSU midfield.

Yea I have my own personal fan shit talking theory when it comes to Nebby fans...almost like Godwin's law, It goes like this: When arguing with a Husker fan, when you finally get them to say "but MUH Trophy case," you know you've won. Most of the ones doing the arguing weren't even alive when they won their national titles.
