That's the only thing I can come up with for the way the plays were called.
That's because Sullivan can't read a defense.I don't blame Sullivan. I think he could be really good...however, anyone who says it's Lester's offense is wrong. It is definitely Ferentz's philosophy. They have ZERO intermediate passing game. It is almost all short passes.
He can’t be really good. Been in college 4 years now and he can’t drop back and deliver. Runs way too early and makes terrible mistakes. Likeable guy but not a starter at this levelI don't blame Sullivan. I think he could be really good...however, anyone who says it's Lester's offense is wrong. It is definitely Ferentz's philosophy. Wait, we have WRs?It's not all on Sully. Our offense hasn't been able to get WRs open for years. It's the scheme, too.
My bad. Exterior blockers.Wait, we have WRs?
Didn’t you see Gill drop that important pass that caused us to punt?Wait, we have WRs?
Sure. But why is that? Check the play calls. That had about 110% to do with it. The play calls in the first half kept UM off balance. In the second half? LOL It was back to play not to lose, and guess what happend, again? That's all on the coaches. You put any QB in that same situation, and you're gonna get the same result. OTOH, give Sully ALL freakin' day to stand still and throw, like the Mizzou QB, and see how that turns out.He was horrible in the second half
This loss is more on the Defense IMHO. Also Coaching. I knew we were screwed when we gave them the ball back on 4th & 2. Should have went for it . 3:24 left in the game.
KF made the right call. Got the ball with a TO and 2:00. Needed two 1st downs to get in FG range.
Where are the screens and designed draws? Iowas qbs are hamstrung by a lack of imagination. That's because Sullivan can't read a defense.
77% completions. Would have been better if Gill didn’t drop his. Only took 2 sacks (not ideal timing but they never are) all in all he is ok. Needs to read defenses better and stay in pocket better.Sullivan played well I thought, some great runs and passes today. Lachey is way slower than prior TEs, easily draped and part of why that pick happened. We knew he wasn't NFL when season started. Gill dropped a key 3rd down catch. Lester needs to try a few deep shots instead of 0. And at least one trick play. I thought the last 4th and 1 was the perfect time to try something, they were sitting on sneak.
7-5? Did Iowa’s schedule change?77% completions. Would have been better if Gill didn’t drop his. Only took 2 sacks (not ideal timing but they never are) all in all he is ok. Needs to read defenses better and stay in pocket better.
He has potential but I’m not seeing him being even close to as good as what the top teams have. 7-5 next year if the defense doesn’t step up and if PP doesnt freaking send some blitzes every once in a while (that’s the most frustrating thing about this loss)
Our DL wearing cement shoes had more of an impact then the play of their OL.Also, our pass pro is still very bad. Watching how long Cook had to pass with thier OLine was jaw dropping.

Parker NEVER blitzed the entire damn game. That is criminal, and despite the inept second half play calling on offense, if the D had blitzed in key situations, Iowa would have won anyway. Pretty simple really.

I'm very skeptical as well, but it wouldn't surprise me if he's the best QB on the roster. That's the problem. The room is comprised of 5 backup QB's and no starters. They still need to find QB1.
I would love to make a wager with you on that.Agree he was horrible the 2nd half...if he starts for Iowa next year 4 wins is MAX they will get
Brown was a puzzling selection IMO, but we know little about him other than Lester was still looking for a higher level QB after signing him up. I think that tells us a lot about not only Brown, but everyone else on the roster. For Pete's sake the qb we get from the portal was a backup
What!??That's the only thing I can come up with for the way the plays were called.
Dude is an injury waiting to happen … his running around will work vs AlbanyThat's the only thing I can come up with for the way the plays were called.
