Gilman might be the second best hand fighter in the country (Snyder is the best IMO). He is able to control position on the mat so well, which is more important in freestyle than folk. It served him extremely well this weekend.

One of the better days I've seen a wrestler have. Hats off to Tony...one of the better displays of sportsmanship I've seen. Must have learned that at UNC 
Biggest story of the tourney: Gilman. Flowrestling has Retherford leading off the home page. No mention of Gilman. Weird.

Was at Northern Plains Regional/WTT Last Chance Qualifier. After seeing Gilman have to come from far behind to beat DeShazer to even make the tournament a few weeks ago, today's run is phenomenal to see!

I don't know about that. I remember reading the loving posts for Ramos on themat forums from some of the more obnoxious PSU fans, after Ramos dissed Brands. All of a sudden they liked him.

I really believe Gilman is going to bring back some hardware from Finland. Funny thing is, he is just getting started!

Tony's interview, in my opinion, answered a question I have had about Ramos. In his heart and soul, after the Dennis loss, was he 100% locked in and committed or was competing possibly coming to an end? Once "the next" is in your mind, it affects everything. Preparation, mental toughness, etc. Not a knock on Tony at all. Mental warfare is part of Both he and Gilman' game. It has just felt like the Brewer match and tournaments since, he's been not fully 100% razor sharp and the Tram we know. I think he is an emotional guy and the situation last year was hard for a young man. I'm sure he wishes he handled it differently and I think it has affected his mental toughness this last year. I thought his interview was great.

Fantastic job by Gilman! I remember when they posted the 30-1 odds. Just thinking come on... he has a tough road, but his odds are much better then that. His mind is right, he is way past his bad match and ready to go for bigger things. Ready to watch him grow and get better and blow up the world stage!!
