Not sure if this is the place to post but my wife and I will be coming to the Iowa/Iowa St. game this year from South Carolina. Every year we pick a stadium to visit for a game to see the campuses across the country. I’ve looked on stubhub for tickets but not much available. Have your season tickets been sent out? We arent overly concerned with “great” seats just like to be in the stadium. Also looking for a parking pass and recommendations on where to park/tailgate. We will in town Friday so any suggestions on what to see would also be appreciated. Thanks for any help.

Season tix wont come out for months.
Just to have you get use to this site you’ll need to post a picture of the wife for accurate answers.

Season ticket renewals have happened, but single game tickets haven't taken place yet. You'll need to be patient.

Tickets will be available outside the stadium in the $100 range. Less if you’re willing to be patient or bargain.

It’s not an impossible ticket by any means but it is in demand.

Check with the ticket office mid July. If no luck, check online sights like stub or vivid. Stay in IC or up the road 20 minutes in Cedar Rapids. Last I knew, Hawks stayed at the Double Tree downtown CR or Kirkwood Hotel, both very nice, new or recently renovated.

Clones stay at the Marriott in Coralville but avoid the area due to all the trailers and livestock wandering around causing a very odoriferous evening on Friday night! There is a good craft beer house next to the Marriott as well as some restaurants if you so choose to hit that area, you’ve been warned about the aforementioned livestock and mouth breathers. JK!

You have options for parking in IC but get there early due to all the fans from both sides showing up to tailgate/party. Those that have tickets go to the game or give them up and watch all around the stadium while being social throughout. You can park at the U of I library lot or down the street at the maintenance lot across from the student rec center, all about a 15 minutes walk up the hill to the stadium. Get into the stadium 30 minutes before kick to experience the Hawk entrance to the field. Fun stuff.

You should park and take a twelve with you and start walking toward the stadium and once on Melrose Avenue there are plenty of house parties that you can find people your own age that will be more than happy to invite you into their area to drink, eat, and have fun or plenty of tailgates in the parking lots too. It’s the Hawkeye way! Or hit the bars on the ped mall - Airliner is one of the best as well as many others. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from West of Kinnick on Coralville strip (route 1) - Wig n Pen, Vine, etc. New craft beer houses going up around town and old ones that have been there too. Stella by the stadium has good food and booze, it will be packed early though like all places.

Tailgating gets started early, 5 to 6 am and only builds bigger and better until game time. This game is kinda like USC/Clemson so that should tell you everything you need to know. Enjoy the weekend in IC/CR area and Go Hawks!!

If your main goal is to see the campus, pick another week as the one you picked is a rivalry game thus a tough ticket.

I don’t see this happening this year.
ISUCC now has as many bowl wins as ricki stanzi and is hyped up with a new savior.
Might get upper levelnsouth end zone for that but nothing good.

It’s too bad Stanzi couldn’t play in a 4th bowl game.

It’s weird saying that ISU has now tied Stanzi after 100+ years of fball.

Could you imagine how many bowl wins Ricky would have if he played at Iowa for 100+ years?!

Regarding choice of game, well, here are some pros and cons and I'm sure others will add to this list:

Pros:
* Weather should be excellent
* Crowd will be excited and there will be a buzz
* Tailgating perhaps as good as it ever gets given so many fans don't even have tickets and still come to Kinnick

Cons:
* Except for Wisconsin, perhaps the toughest home ticket this year - if you want them in hand before you drive, $125 per is my guess
* Parking pass is going to be tough to come by... I'd guess $150 for one (but you could park for free at Hancher and walk around a bit or take free bus)
* Crowd could be a little hostile as the ISU fans live for this day and want to beat Iowa more than any team they play
* Hotels nearby could be tough, but like somebody else said 25 miles north in Cedar Rapids you'd be fine

Personally, if you're hardcore college football fans (and presumably you must be?) then I think it will be a good game to come see. If you're more interested in seeing the campus / stadium and not as focused on seeing a good game, come either the week before or the week after.

ISU game is one of the best times to visit. College football fans should be looking for high-energy games, and ISU is definitely one of them.

Other than getting a ticket, a hotel and navigating around a town you've never been too when every place is packed to capacity... yeah, it's a great weekend for a first time visitor.

Good choice. Likely a game finishing under the lights. Likely long day of activities ahead of kickoff. Will be crowded. I do have season tickets and had to procure two extra seats for the game so all in the family can go to this one. I do stub hub and yes their fees are high, but this game won't have tickets going under face value this year. And be prepared for your cell phone to tank around game time as so many extra people in town all on their phones. Gradually gets better after game is over.

Tickets-You can try the second the general public can buy them. If not check out Stub hub till you get the price you want. Right now there are tix on Stub hub under $125 per ticket. Iowa doesn't send tix out till mid August. You're probably not going to find a deal on this game but not an impossible ticket either.
Hotel-Staying in IC is going to be high with minimum night stays. As others have said CR is an option.
Parking/Tailgating-This is from last year. On top of this there are places who sell spots in their yards. So private lots. For the ISU game getting there early is the key. Can also park downtown. https://footballgameday.hawkeyesports.com/parking/

The ISU game is fun but a ton of people come just to tailgate. 30 to 40K make no plans on ever going to the game. Probably similar to Clemson/USC.
