For those who held out, you will be rewarded.

Remember when tickets were going for $600 each a couple weeks ago (on/around December 10)?

Well, ticket prices have plummeted 77% in a 12 day span (December 15-Dec 27).

The face value for Rose Bowl tickets are $150 or $180/ticket.

On December 15, tickets were available on Stub Hub for $532/ticket ($450 + $82 in fees)

Thursday morning, Dec 24, they were down to $170 each ($141 plus $29 in fees = $170 final price).

Saturday, Dec 26, they were down to $152 each ($125 plus $27 in fees=$152 final price).

Sunday, Dec 27, they were down to $121 each ($99 plus $22 in fees=$121 final price).

You can get parking passes 1.9 miles from the venue, too, for $35 ($28.+ $7 in fees).

Just stunning how far game tickets price have fallen.
Scalpers were offering $320/tickets an hour before kickoff of the B1G championship game and I wasn't seeing anyone selling off their tickets.
I thought if tickets were going for $400 in Indy, it would be at least $500 in Pasadena.

I bought 2 tickets just before the announcement at $300/each.
Was going to resell, but they weren't delivered until yesterday.
Just a lot of scum involved with buying tickets for this game.

If I'm going to be out at least $250, I might as well to snoop to see how much flights are.
Fortunately, found a RT flight, Dec 27 - Jan 4 for $388 from Nashville to Los Angeles.

If you still need to buy just continue to wait or make lower offers. I have been watching eBay and tickets are not moving on there either. The sellers keep dropping their prices.

There are about 10,000 tickets for sale. The game is in eight days so you would need to leave by next Thursday at the latest. It not like 10,000 people over the next 7 days are going to be like hell lets go to California just out of the blue.

There are roughly 5,100 tickets available on Stubhub today whereas two weeks ago, there were less than 1,000. This is largely a product of Stanford fans (and a few greedy Hawkeyes) seeing how much tickets were going for after the initial announcement and getting university tickets in the hopes of flipping them on the secondary market.

The ticket brokers had already purchased their tickets before the matchup was announced.

Why was there a lot of scum involved? No one forced people to pay high ticket prices. Anyone that paid over $300 for a ticket isn't very smart IMO.

I drove to Miami with no ticket in 2002 for the orange and got a ticket for $15 from a guy on a ten speed bike, but all I had was a $20 and he had no change { he said} so I paid $20

then when I go into reggie roby stadium, { kidding} the girl rips the ticket apart where it shows my seat and she tosses the part that shows my seat, so I knew not where to sit.

So, you're saying you bought tickets with the sole purpose of reselling them or did you originally plan on going?

Love the law of supply and demand.

It will be fun to see the prices continue to drop. I agree with the poster above. When flights were over $1,000 and tickets were $600, a lot of people gave up on going to Calif. It just got to be too expensive for a few days trip. Now there are a ton of tix for sale but not enough buyers flying out for the game; those potential buyers are staying home to watch.

It seems to me (and others) that some purchased tickets to resell. No problem, but the shoe is on the other foot now. It's unfortunate because some Hawk fans won't make this trip because of the ticket issues. In conclusion, if some lose money (ticket resellers), I won't lose any sleep.

Buget rental car from Iowa City: Standard Car, 1 week (12/28 - 1/4) $135.00 unlimited miles.
There are ways.

Remember there are 4 airports within an hour or less from Pasadena. LAX, SNA, ONT, & BUR, the smaller ones will have lower cost airfare.

I want to enjoy my self not drove the entire time. What, nobody works on here they can take weeks off at any time they want?

This if you want to go, find another airport. I know people who are flying into Vegas, San Diego, and San Fran and are driving down/up to the game from those locations. They said they found reasonable flights. (200-400) dollars. I realize they have to rent a car and pay for gas, which probably eats up some of the extra money.

Prices continue to drop.

Sat Dec 26, they were down to $152 each ($125 plus $27 in fees=$152 final price).

Buy a ticket to phoenix or mesa, then rent a car for $30/day and drive over on the 10. It's a 6 hour drive to LA. First 4 are open desert - smooth sailing.

buying for resale is fine but it's still disappointing to me. I think a lot of Iowa fans chose not to make the trip because of ridiculous initial prices, and I also think a lot of Iowa money was given to brokers via markup for absolutely no good reason. the number of tickets available through Iowa fans right now makes it pretty obvious that a lot of people used their points to join the speculative market. that's their prerogative, but a little unbecoming in my eyes.

... and I will not feel bad when i take the tix off their hands at 30 bucks game day (tix are at 80 on stub hub now)

I will also most likely be scalpimg a pair game day. Unfortunately have to wait until Wednesday to see if I get tickets and if not I don't expect it to be too hard to get s pair out there on game day.

I can't speak for everyone else, but I doubt most bought tickets with the intent to resell. The university of iowa takes so long (in the case of the rose bowl, 8 days) to let season ticket holders know if they are getting tickets from the allotment. I applied for tickets for both the Big10 championship and the rose bowl. I got a "dear john" letter on the big ten tix and had to scramble to buy some on stubhub a week before the game. So for the rose bowl (which was a bigger travel investment financially), I wanted to ensure I had not only seats, but good seats, so I bought on stub hub. Then I found out I got tickets through the allotment from u of Iowa (and they are horrible seats BTW).

So true, I bought early, to make sure I had s spot in the game, not with intent to resell, then I got lucky and got decent seats through university, so trying to sell extra, and not trying to make anything.

Those are great prices just to get into the game, good seats are going for a little more.

Bad seats or good seats buyers just keep waiting prices are literally dropping everyday.

Bad seats will be down to $40 by game day if not lower. There are going to be a lot of people eating tickets.

Yes, im one of those who would of went if any sense of sanity prevailed in the ticket allocation process. Couldnt afford to gamble that much money on travel with ticket prices so high. Sad if there ends up being empty seats. Who does that benefit?

I honestly did not see this price drop coming. When tickets were $600, I did not think they would ever go below $300.
