Does he get a free filter? In the postgame show, Dasonte was named the Lennox Heating & Air Conditioning Hot Hawkeye (71% FG shooting, 100% FTs)

Sorry if I missed it somewhere, but why so few minutes tonight for Bowen?Does he get a free filter?

I was shocked Desonte didn't get more minutes. Surely someone had to ask Fran about it didn't they? That would've been my second question.
Bowen didn't seem thrilled about his lack of pt last night. He was the first one in the tunnel after Fran won his 500th game. He came back out once he realized they were still celebrating him.
Bowen needs more minutes. No reason why he couldnt get in with Ulis turning it over.

As someone else in another thread stated Iowa State makes teams turn the ball over at an incredibly high rate. Thought he said something like 30% of the possessions. 6 turnovers in 36 minutes in a high octane game like that as the primary ball handler is not ideal but did anyone see Fran upset at him? I didn’t. 7 rebounds (2nd on the team) hit some 3’s and played solid defense. I get it, you guys all want to hand the keys to Bowen so you’re going to bitch whenever he doesn’t play 20 minutes. Guess what? He’s not going to. He’ll have some games where he will take control but for the most part he’s going to get spot time unless Ulis is shitting the bed. He’s going to hopefully be a really good player for us. Let him get stronger and work his way into it.good point. Iowa had 18 total turnovers.
* In 36 minutes, Ulis had 6 of them
* The 9 others who played had a combined 12
its not a good look for him IF he were pouting while this was going on
again, IF he were pouting. hopefully there is not a problem

Sounds like pee. 😁When this first happened he was walking into the locker room. A coach tried to get him multiple times to come out and let him go. He came back running on to the floor about 30-45 seconds later.
I don't know if he had to pee, puked, wanted to catch a family member or was mad.
Dasonte is not ready to start. He had 2 turnovers in 3 minutes of action and that will earn him a seat on the bench. His time will come and maybe sooner rather than later but not yet.
That would make far too much sense. The kid played 3 minutes, barely enough to break a sweat, pretty hard to evaluate off that imo.i just wish in a blow out that Fran would have lengthened the leash
give the kid some real game experience so when we REALLY need him, he has some experience under his belt

We all have our gripes about Fran, Bluder and Kirk but that did bother me last night. The guys were gassed while starting to turn the ball over and we play a conference opponent Sunday but no subs came.
fourth tier coaching move, plays his kids emoter time in 20-30 point blowout
I think it had more to do with his respect for IA State's ability to came back. Iowa had a huge lead a few years back and IA State came back and beat Iowa.We all have our gripes about Fran, Bluder and Kirk but that did bother me last night. I disagree. We have a freshman point guard who is learning how to secure the ball at the D1 level versus a team that is one of the nation's leader in turning the ball over. That doesn't seem like a good time to play him a lot. I look for him to play a lot more over the break.
If anything will teach him to play with fearI disagree.
29 point lead is the perfect time to give him chance to learn vs a tough D, like hes going to see on Sunday v Wisconsin, and in the big ten
mollycoddling playing time do cup cakes will not elevate his game…
