Time outs

2 straight games we use essentially no timeouts in the 2nd half, both games blowing a double-digit second-half lead while looking absolutely awful for long stretches. Indefensible. I'm sure it's not possible to know, but I would like to know how many times that has happened in the history of college basketball.

Iowa up 11 with 14:32 left.
Iowa falls behind by 7 with 2:43 left.
In between - Iowa shoots 7 for 21 with 2 turnovers; no timeouts taken

Sun vs. Indiana -
Iowa up 10 with 14:30 left.
Iowa falls behind by 2 with 5:05 left.
In between - Iowa shoots 2 for 10 with 2 turnovers; no timeouts taken

I would love for Fran apologists to defend this.

Holy shit. Thanks for the data but ouch.

Not sure but a couple players looked gassed and seemed like they could’ve used a blow. Good opportunities for Fran to draw up a play and gain some potential momentum

I think the explanation is easy. Fran only cares about offense....so:

-When they are building a lead, he's not gonna call a timeout to affect their rythmn.
-When they are losing a lead, he's not gonna call a timeout because he want them to 'shoot out of their slump'.

Let’s face it. Fran isn’t a good in game coach and has proven it not only last few games but over the years.
