It's suprising to me how sensitive our fan base comes off when someone voices their opinion about us. Any time anyone national puts out an opinion they meet a flood of angry Hawk fans demanding more respect, and it doesn't make us look great.
Nobody's opinion matters at all and if we continue to win we've got nothing to worry about. But also the simple fact is that it's perfectly reasonable to question our resume compared to other teams, and our eye test really hasn't been stellar save for NW. We haven't played MSU, OSU, or Mich, and to pretend that doesn't mean anything makes us look delusional. We would be skeptical of other teams with resumes similar to ours.
Guys like Cowherd and Gottlieb don't even deserve acknowledgment but they continue to troll the Hawks because they see how much action they get off of it, and guys like Herbstriet and Scott Van Pelt just seem exhausted dealing with the massive response they get when they put out the perfectly reasonable opinion that the Hawks have yet to fully prove themselves. The Hawks are on a mission, why do we need to beg for respect from the pundits when none of it matters?
