Peter Jok made Iowa proud today. He hit 22 3's in
the first round, 21 3's in the second round and 20 3's
in the Final round. He looked good on ESPN TV
this afternoon and won the title easily. Coach Fran
was there to cheer Jok. Another well-deserved
accomplishment for an Iowa Hawkeye.

So, he made us look good again on the replay. I'll take it!

Congrats to PJ! That ups his stock with some national recognition. Everything helps in a league built on marketing...

The April Fool's joke is on me. The replay today was
news to me even though Jok won it on Thursday.

Don't feel bad. He would have won it again today if they had another contest.

Jok tied the woman's champ later (16-16) in the broadcast when they played against each other, and they gave her the trophy on tie breaking criteria of getting the most points in a single rack... I think they were noting that he needed to stay fresh which probably hurt him in his round against her sitting down for a while beforehand, since he scored 20+ points in all of the men's rounds.

The women's winner DID score 26 in one of her rounds. Pretty sure they don't call it the NCAA TOURNEY 3-POINT CHAMPIONSHIP ;)

But it is very cool that Peter showed he's the best senior three point shooter not playing niche NIT or NCAA final fours. That said, the only player in the NCAA final four that likely would have been invited is Justin Jackson of UNC - he would have been tough, but I say Peter beats him. Oh wait, Jackson is a junior. There's a kid from UCF that likely would have been invited, and I'm surprised Koenig didn't go. But again, Peter would have beaten anybody :) Not surprised at all that's he won!
