Nice public praise for Gunther and Holloway. It seems in years past, Tom has been a little more of a glass half empty interviewer especially early in the year.
Tom: "Make no mistake, this (Iowa City Duals) is important."
Ross: "Why do you say that?"
Tom (paraphrased): Because we are wrestling people who have two arms and two legs and a head, and all season long we will be wrestling people with two arms and two legs and a head, or sometimes one leg, and you have to win matches against opponents like that.
I think this is as good as we're going to get in terms of justifying the IC Duals.
Ross: "Why do you say that?"

I think this is as good as we're going to get in terms of justifying the IC Duals.
Throw a lower level D1 team like Maryland or SIUE and it really isn't that bad of a day. Hoping they just swung and missed on someone like that this year. Weighing in & wrestling 3 "warm up" matches in the morning isn't the worst lead in to what ends up being a brutal schedule by the end of the year.
