Saw where he made an unofficial visit to North Carolina in late July, not to mention attended their camp earlier this spring. He has not taken an official visit there yet so he will probably visit North Carolina for a game. I think he will be a tough get, doubt he will take an unofficial to Iowa City for a game. We took a shot but I think he will end up in the ACC.

As pointed out in the Beau suspended thread, his older Brother attends UNC and was one of the players suspended for selling their shoes

UNC is closer and offers the opportunity to play with his brother ... it definitely might be a tough offer for the Hawks to beat out. Of course, there is no guarantee that UNC won't fill up on the DL ... and that could potentially clinch our chances of landing him. The very fact that he's not automatically choosing them over us is at least a partial "win."

I checked out UNC's offers and their current list of commits ... they're currently not even close to being full on the DL. Also, apparently the UNC coaches have high expectations for Tomon Fox this fall. From this, I would surmise that Fox's brother, Tomon, is probably pretty happy at UNC too ... thus, that might make the possibility to play with his brother all the more alluring.

I would guess higher expectations than doing something stupid to get suspended for 4 games. That might sour the relationship a bit.

Fedora is already on the not seat. This 13-player suspension only makes it worse. That uncertainty could play to Iowa's favor.

I don't know - how hot is the seat? They had an awfully good season in '15 and they were solid in '16. Of course, '17 was a stinker ... so how patient will they be with him? I'd guess that the '15 season when they went 11-3 and were competitive to win the conference probably buys him some patience with the big donors.

The University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill:
Take as many fake classes as you want, but don't you dare sell your shoes.

Academics isn't a big deal because the athletes aren't directly gaining monetarily. How dare an athlete make a dime from the school. The school is using them to create a multi-million dollar profit stream and no penny is overlooked.

Given that NFL stands for "not for long" for most college football players with NFL aspirations ... academics are an enormously valuable aspect of their collegiate experience. If they take advantage of their academic opportunities every bit as much as they take advantage of their athletic opportunities ... they can potentially set themselves up for life!

I get that Ghost, what I meant was academic fraud seems to get less scrutiny than athletes making liquid cash on team issued gear. The post I was responding to implied that at UNC phoney classes aren't an issue, but selling team issued Jordans for profit was. Seems like this could be the case some places. Very shrewd regulations. NCAA is hardcore racket.

Why not come get the best training for the NFL and/or life you can possibly get out of a college football program?
Really kind of a no brainer unless of course you listen to that silly bastard CyTwits or his prison Daddy 1976.
