TP was banging under the rim on both sides, love his aggressive energy and being at the hoop. Continue to need more of this from him he's a great athlete. His athletic build with broad shoulders reminds me more of a wrestler than a hooper, Eddie Horton comparison!

Off topic: we were struggling early and they were containing Keegan, so was good to see Tony and Conner step up then Kris got it going in the 2nd half! Also Sandfordt must put a lot of pressure on himself, he was hitting the chair after being yanked not in a bad way but in a I can do better type of way, love that fire in him. This team is fun to watch and so different than last year's team with so many different guys that can step up! Don't know how Fran didn't get T'd up. He was on the court 3' out almost the entire game and letting the refs have it with some of their ticky tack fouls. Onward - beat the Wildcats.

Fred H used this defense at ISU. You guard the other team's 3 best players with 5 guys and basically leave 2 players open. Tony and Connor destroyed Fred's junk defense. That crap is not going to work in the B1G. Held Keegan to 15 points. Big deal. How many wide open looks from 3 did they give up to us? More than I have seen in a long while. To me, they have the kind of team and athletic ability to play straight up man or zone. When they were playing hard (first 12 minutes) they were tough. Once we wore them down, we had our way with them. I thought they showed a lot of disrespect for Tony and Connor and baby did they have to pay! Could have been a bigger margin of victory had we pushed the pace a little more but at that point just secure the win and go home to fight another day. It would not surprise me if Nebraska goes on a little mini run in the B1G tournament, winning a couple of games. they have an elite point guard and athletic bigs. They have a couple guys who can really shoot the rock. If Fred gets sick again and lets his assistants coach, maybe they have a better chance, who knows?

Agree with the disrespect on Tony, I get he hasn’t been shooting well but man they were sagging on him like he’s Ben Simmons. Fred is way in over his head.

Iowa got some easy/good looks last night, but I was actually impressed with some of Nebraska’s defensive possessions and effort. I’ll have to rewatch the game for more, but there were a couple really good Nebraska possessions that ended with a Perkins fadeaway jumper (15 minute mark in the first half) and then the air ball where he put himself in great position to grab it and put in the layup (also with little time on the clock)

The shooting confidence was great to see, but he had some grown man rebounds as well. Third on the team with 5 boards, that was really encouraging since this team seems to go as it’s ability to crash the glass goes

I've been waiting for Tony and Ulis to provide us some of what made them so highly thought of in HS. I hope this wasn't just an aberration for Tony and it opened his eyes to what he can accomplish this year in this league.

As for Hoiberg, I see he has the 33rd ranked (we are 63rd) coming in next year, according to 247sports. Problem with Nebraska is there is so much player movement from year to year to ever achieve any real stability.

Ed Horton? Eddie was a power forward

And pushing the defensive intensity. Perkins hands are so quick and good anticipation when playing D
Yup, his defense is fantastic. He was VERY close to get a solo steal/fast break dunk last night at the top of the key. Love seeing that type of stuff.

He was terrific last night in every way. His energy and defense are always great. Guy hits free throws at a 90% clip. If he can hit shots on a more consistent basis watch out.

Tony has been my favorite Hawk from Day One. Love his demeanor. Could be a great coach some day should he choose.

Keegan Murray is like having Grant Hill and Iowa never gets that type guy.

Perkins is one of those streetball scorers that Iowa never seems to find.

I would add JoeT is the bulldog on defense that Iowa never has.

Now that fran has them playing defense/rebounding, it is quite a coaching job this year.
