Tony Perkins have yourself a day

Here's to hoping this was Tony's true 'coming out' party.

I remember a game where both he and Ulis rode the struggle bus hard the prior game, and then they both 'exploded' for a game, but then Tony disappeared again for the most part until today.

Congrats for sure. He's such a hard guy to figure though. Dude will disappear for weeks and then this.....
He got to the foul line which was a huge part of his success. He hit his floaters and mid-range shots instead of just trying to bully his way to the rim. He struggles with peoples hands in traffic and when he tries to go all the way to the rim against shot blockers. The way Illinois played defense allowed him much more room at the rim in this game. Same defense MSU played that Ulis took advantage of.

Shooting 20 per cent above your free throw average certainly helped. but don't expect to see that happen again this year. Sandfort is lights out at the line and averages 90%, but I wouldn't really expect it from him either with more than 7-8 shots tho.
