Track

Right off the bat, Kemdawg has a good one in Clayton Ream. A good test. Turk would have Long in the second round.

Brooks has zillmer in quarters and Taylor in semis. Other half of bracket has some better names. But if he loses to Taylor he could still see dechow for 3rd.

Yeah, some of the seeds don't lend themselves to our wrestlers getting to see all the competition. Still, they'll get to wrestle some of the best if they hold seed. Turk draws Long in the second round. Hopefully Brooks will get to see #2 or #3 on the backside and make a statement.

-Long is seeded 4th. Have fun with that. I'd be shocked if anyone comes within 5 of him
-awful draw for Turk. He has long 2nd round.
-great draw for carton. He has the possibility to rattle off a few wins in a row(has Meeks 2nd round)
-no peters. Gillman will roll. I am excited to see Boston in the 3rd round here. He went 3-2 with dance and has disappeared since.
-33-no Richards or Brewer. Cory vs hall take 10 here
49-pretty tough weight here. Sorenson will have Clagon or suff. Suff has always been awfully tough and I'm a little worried about this match.
If kemerer can beat ream first round he can get on a roll and will have Caleb Richardson in the quarters.
57-somehow Welch is unseeded at 57(he beat green last year) and cooper has him first round. Imar is out. This is a big tournament for Ed. I hope he can finish in the top 6 and keep building as the season goes on.
65-great draw for Patrick. He has two winnable matches out the gate to set up a rematch with weatherman. Weak weight
74-no Brunson. It looks like the whole Illinois team is gone. I'm excited to see him vs reed in the semis. He's an exciting kid.
84-boo brooks gets the 4 seed so I doubt he sees dechow. He'll see zillmer and then pry Dudley in 3/4 who he will already see later in the year. Let's hope Dudley beats dechow so we can see him and Sammy scrap again. Zahid Valencia the 10 seed here. Wilke has dechow 2nd round. It would be nice to see him win a match or two.
97-mr consistency here. If he just keeps doing what he's doing he'll have his 2nd midlands title. Halloway has the 3 seed right out of the gate. Marcus Harrington is in there also.
Hwt- Stoll gets the 4 seed and should have a rematch with Rutgers kid. I'd like to see him hit tanner hall on the backside. He's a stud Frosh and they will battle for years.

So no Brewer wonder if with hoildays off and cutting that weight is the problem.
Just a good way to protect his seed at nationals;). If Clark can go undefeated for the season then win the big ten should have a shot at the one seed since he was runner up last year and was 5th at a lower weight.

What happens on this board if Turk beats Long?

Anyone else think it might be Carton in the quarters at 41 instead of Meeks? Carton's path to the quarters is: (1) #10 seed and unranked Kirchner from Rider, who is 7-5 on the year with no signature wins; (2) unseeded and unranked Meeks, who is 6-4 on the year with no signature wins; (3) #7 seed and #18 ranked Bleise from Northern Illinois, who is 11-3 on the year with a win over #15 Horan (5-3) and losses to Horan (fall), #8 Manley (9-2), and an unranked guy from WVU. Would love to see him take all 3 of those guys out.

It's definitely a possibility. Carton is no slouch. He just hasn't had the ball roll his way much since moving to Iowa.

He wrestled a good match right out of the chute against a tough opponent in Rutgers. Another minute...It will be nice to see how he does. Also looking forward to Kemdawg.

Brooks-I got to thinking about how disappointing it was that stauffer wasn't there and he pry wouldn't get to wrestle dechow. This could actually work out in Sammys favor if he gets 3rd. Let's say he loses to Taylor and beats zillmer or Dudley for 3rd. The rest of his schedule is big ten(Dudley and ab) where he should win out in my opinion. If this is the case he is undefeated(loss to Taylor doesn't count) and your 2 seed at nationals.

Agree. I wouldn't be surprised to see Kemdawg get on a roll and meet up with Tshirt in the semis. That would be fun to watch.

Totally get what you're saying, but given Tsirtsis' style, I don't know how much fun that match would be to watch. I'm betting it goes to OT at 1-1. That said, I'd love to see it, no matter how much of a snoozer a match with Tsirtsis might be.

I agree that's a real possibility. But I would like to see how Kemerer's attacking style does against Tsirtsis's great defense. If Tsirtsis gets the upper hand, it very well might be a snooze-fest.

125 - Gilman should cruise to the finals
133 - Clark and Montoya/Beckman could be interesting, likely sees Hall in finals
133 - Glynn first match against "Alexander the Great" will be a tough test. likely going to go backside early
141 - Turk sees Long R2, very tough match.
141 - Give me Carton over Meeks R2. If he can make it to quarters to wrestle Jack, that'd be fantastic
149 - Sorenson / Sueflohn semi will be a great match. Sorenson won't be tested until then
149 - Kemerer's first match can be a bit tricky, but if he gets out of that I think he meets Tsirtsis in semis
157 - Cooper/Gantt in the quarters could be a high flying match. Gantt is GOOD on his feet
165 - Rhoads has a tough little bracket with Moore and Weatherman, but I think he can hang
174 - Meyer could have a tricky match R2 against Holschlag (kid is sneaky strong) but Meyer / Walters semi could be interesting
184 - Tough road for Sammy. Zilmer in the quarters, Taylor in semis. I think he'll see Dudley for 3rd place
184 - Wilcke sees Dechow first match. Good luck young man!
197 - Burak will cruise to finals. I'm saying he and Harrington battle for title
197 - Holloway has a tough one, Rotert/Harrington/Wellington
Hwt - Stoll will have Smith in quarters which will be tough, just to meet up with Gwiz. Good chance for him to feel real man strength, but VERY tough match.
