Trent Hidlay in campus!!!

Would be a great get for any team. What weight does he project? 74/84? I know he had some good battles with Young back in PA.

REALLY would like him to be a Hawk. I have had him on my wish list for a while. Beard, Sasso, Hoffman, Teske and Hidlay would be my top 5 from this class!!
He probably fits in that 165-174 range. Ideally I hope he ends up at 184!!
Beard and/or Hoffman would be AWESOME if 1 of them could make 184. But don't know if that is a possibility for them let alone I don't know if either is interested in Iowa..

my opinion is that Trent has more untapped talent than his older brother. Been watching them since they were in grade school. My opinion is hayden is the harder, more driven worker. Trent has more left to give it seems to me and, with the right coaching would not be just good, but maybe great.

I dont think he would at all be worried about the distance from PA to Iowa, been traveling to wrestle his whole life. Hes a f&* kid, and Im sure he would be entertaining to the fans in a non-facemush more kemdog way ie scoring and f&* interviews.

If you could land him, would be a nice pipeline into one of the better and lesser known clubs in PA, Bucknell Legend (based out of Bucknell U) Which is the mecca right now for central PA wrestling. Hoffman also wrestles out of there. Hoffman has PSU and Cornell as his top 2 Im told. I think PSU gets one of Beard/hoffman its just a matter of feel and which ones pulls the trigger first (which is probably beard).

Having a statue of a wrestling Legend in front of your arena has to be a plus for these guys coming in. How many schools give statues to wrestlers? That being said cant we grow grass around the statue? Ive already mowed 3 times and it needs it again. It looked like mostly dirt there.

Heard it was Meyers job to get grass there

Hidlay could sway Sasso to Iowa as they seem tight. BUT IMO just from following their Twitter accounts Iowa would need Hidlay to commit to do so because from every tweet I've seen from Sasso has a lot of Ohio St to it with a bit of Jordan Oliver here and there. I never see anything supporting Iowa, MCD etc. Plus I just do not see his personality ever meshing with any one of our coaches. Way too urban street. Sasso just doesn't seem like the right fit at all for Iowa except for wrestling 7 min.

Hope I am wrong and he has been sandbagging his interest in Iowa but honestly their twitters give a lot away. He is a talent for sure.

Sasso is a hammer. 49 is a need weight for us. We need guys like him to keep pace with PSU, tOSU, OSU. Otherwise we are just fighting to stay on the podium.

What? Not Iowa style? YOu mean the kid doesn't own a pair of cement boots?;)

Gable clearly wants the grass growth called for stalling.

i have watched Hidlay wrestle for sometime now and he is truly a physical specimen. He moves well and has that elbows over the knees stance no matter what the outcome of the scramble...i mean he is a shot -- RESHOT kind of kid with great balance. I have said he has more potential than his older brother and i think Iowa's coaching staff can bring it out of him. If Morningstar and TNT can get him...he may be the key to securing Sasso as well. These 2 studs would be instant fan favorites with their aggressive styles and wide open offense. they would look AWESOME in Black and gold !

Grass don't grow on a playground. :). Just a testament to how many people are walking on that grass to take pictures with the legend!!!!

A lot of people said that about Montell Marion as well. Sasso is an urban street kid who loves rap music, has had his hair in dreads (white people should never ever have dreads, it just don't look right), etc but I think he can fit in well with the team. He may just have to learn how to hunt lol

One of the main points of college is to be exposed to people not like yourself. If he is a hard worker, Sasso will fit in just fine if he comes to Iowa.

the question would be is the relaxed life style of iowa to mr. sasso's liking, i've always said the difference between city and country people is big.it would probably be really beneficial for him if he could adjust to our slower pace, then he could focus on wrestling and school, but it is not for everyone.

Iowa City is a fantastic college town. It's not Philly or Pittsburgh, but it has a charm all its own and there's plenty for college kids to do in terms of socializing, etc. Plus, a D-1 wrestler is going to be very busy between training and school and won't have a lot of extra time to be exploring a large city in much depth, for the most part.

IMO, Iowa City is a plus for our recruiting. I don't think the pace of life for any D-1 wrestler is very slow, no matter where they attend school. Some may prefer an urban campus, but if that's the case, you can cross off Okie State and PSU, too.

Don't agree with the white folks and dread comment. (I hang out with Rasta folk regularly.) However the kid might still like to hunt.

I could see a scenario in which Trent grew to an 84lber - which would work well with Iowa's current personnel.

also - im pretty sure he'll be ranked much higher than 16th in the next update of the 2018 Big Board

How much money do we have to raise to hire you away from PSU?

Just don't rank him so high that he makes it on Cael's radar please ;)
I think the big board is Nomad's now. Never know what that Nomad is going to do! LOL!

I'm trying to get Recruiting Class rankings done by Wednesday or Thursday.

Then i'm gonna work w/ Nomad on JR Big Board.

also hope to have new wt rankings (w/ SR's removed) for a week or two but that's a monster project.
Do you have any input on flo putting out a product that works, You guys have been stealing from people a long time.
