Trump gets his SC Stay for now

This is a really stupid question by the X poster. SCOTUS always prefers the lower courts act first. That doesn't mean they never grant cert first, but it's always their preference to use the normal process.

I'm actually surprised they granted cert this time.

They are buying Trump time. This is a blatantly political move by the justices to buy him time. Our government is corrupt from the bottom up and we need to quite frankly erase the whole thing and start over.

We need to start embracing the developments to democracy that have taken place in the last 250 years since we formulated our constitution and put in place more safeguards from this kind of wanna be dictator.

He should file an Amicus that he will kill all nine justices if they rule he has immunity to do so.

Just wipe the slate clean and start over....

No just the ones that ruled that he had immunity.

Yes, everything is a conspiracy. This is definitely not the normal process for escalating cases. Definitely. 😅🤣😂 Trump and the Supreme Court are clearly playing 5d chess lolol

They haven't ruled that yet.

But the simple fact they are asserting he has any case here is pretty disturbing - Luttig is bewildered at their actions on this as he should be.

If Roberts is trying to destroy the credibility of his Court, he is doing a fine job.
The last hire to the Supreme Court can't define the word woman. What credibility damage could Robert's possibly do with that in mind lol

Lol that guy went to Harvard. They're not exactly known for academic integrity or excellence there anymore. See Claudine gay and the 4 others currently under investigation for fraud and plagiarism in their leadership. #NotImpressed

Democrats really do seem to hate the only black man on the Supreme Court for some reason. It's definitely not based on his legal takes either..
yes...democrats' issues with thomas - noted constitutional originalist - has nothing to do with his legal takes

i'm convinced there is no way you actually believe at least half of the posts you make

I actually think most of you just hate him bc you're told he's bad by propagandists like Rachel Maddow or Stephen Colbert to be honest. The fact that he's a black man is just fun to point out since the left allegedly loves DEI so much until a black person comes out as a conservative.

As someone who took courses at Harvard let me add that there's nothing particularly impressive about it.

LMAO! Time to charge Obama with the murder of American citizens then. You're a buffoon. Luttig is a never Trumper and has been wrong the whole time. Kind of like YOU.

This case is DONE. SC most likely remands to the district court to determine what "official acts" are and no way this gets in before election.

Only thing libtards have left is the porn star.

off his meds, again.
Awe poor DKJ, doesn't understand that Obama killed 2 US citizens in a drone strike on purpose. That's called murder Joe. If Trump is going to get charged, then might as well lock Obama up.

You are an idiot.

If Trump is immune from prosecution in this case, Joe might just as well overturn this election. Win or lose it is Biden’s if Trump is immune.

You think it might have something to do with his wife aiding in the Capitol insurrection?

Be better.

The point of immunity for the president is to keep prosecutors from constantly filing cases to impede the work of the president. It is also to keep these same prosecutors from doing the same thing to interfere in an election. It is sound policy to have some level of immunity and the Supreme Court was always going to be the destination for any decision regarding these issues.

And how is aiding and abetting an insurrection in any logical way a part of the official duties of a president? I agree presidents should have some level of immunity to be able to do their job but what trump did was most definitely not something he should have immunity for. We all know it. It's mind blowing how corrupt these people are

LOL huh?!
Lol it's expected you wouldn't get it. I'll type slowly so you can hopefully follow along.

If Trump has immunity that means Biden does as well. If Trump wins the upcoming election the poster is saying that since Biden would be immune from any consequences so he should just overturn the results and stay in power... since it's legal for him and all to do it.

That's why this is asinine. And we all know it's just a delay tactic and the SC knows it and they are allowing it because it's what the want. It's abhorrent.
